Sunday 27th March South Wales to Mid Wales ride out (and back)

Ok so likely people to be coming are aka gilo and his mate with ducat, windymiller, tuboy, Evlin, daveb, newelly with pillion and mate with 125, stix, ashcorner and pinny. So including me that's 11. Weather holds up should be a nice little run. Cheers guys got your mobile no's. Will send a text night beforehand and morning of ride. Can't guarantee site will be up and running eh ;)

I should be able to make it,weather permiting (no wet weather gear) ,Italy invades Aber,I can see the headline in the Western Mail now:eek

There's no way my missus would let either of my kids on the back. Shame as my boy is 11 and he used to love me speeding in my Impreza and would love to go on the back :(

Stix, took my kids out on the back of the T for the first time today, missus was dead against it, so i did my usual thing and went and brought them a helmet and gloves and some of those love handle grabby things. Managed to talk her round and took both of them on the back for about a 10 min ride, ( separately of course).
You should have seen the look on their faces when they got of, priceless..a bit like mine when i first had a go on the Tuono:happy Only problem is now i get "dad can we go out for a ride on the bike " all afternoon..

Nice one. Think my better half would divorce me (again) if I did that though :(

Just to wander off track slightly, is Pikeman going to put in an appearance on this rideout? Worcestershire is in the catchment area!
New crash bungs just arrived, wisdom tooth gone this morning, back strain feeling better today, just got to start the wifes
Bulldog and she will be happy.

I'm not sure to be honest. You are right though he is kinda in the catchement area but not replied to the thread. Newelly is trying to get a ride out with him at some point as well as they live near each other but no luck either. he's like the Scarlet Pimpernel isn't he. They seek him here they seek him there that damn elusive Pikey.

Will anyone mind if my mate plods along on his Triumph Tiger ?
Ash , what route are you thinking of to get down, i dont know them parts too well.

Pinny it seems everyone is asking their mates so shouldn't be an issue at all. If all turn up should be a right old convoy of bikes.
I've asked one of my mates and he's on a BMW. Haven't asked my other mates though as they want to get out early and get back earlier than we'll be doing.

Route

I've given it some thought and bearing in mind the time we would need to be there, the fastest way is straight down the motorway, (M42; M5; M50)not the best way I know, but definately the quickest. Looking at the route of the rideout, I would start to head back via Hereford and then Worcester then whichever way is easier back to base.
A pal of mine has just bought a bike, I don't know if he would be up for it I may ask him anyway.:thumbup

10.30 to 11 is the time guys. I'm sure you have time for a more scenic route. Its only about hour and three quarters down so if u set off at 8ish would give you 3 hours to get time. More than enough for the scenic route I'd say.

Yes bay, that gives us loads of time to take in the scenic route
And i know its somewhere in this thread, but where were we meeting up at!!!!!

Now if there is a comp going for the longest link thats got to win it,,, WTF

Nice link Pinny, I will need to get the first part stored in my head, the second part is easy. Fingers crossed it's dry.:thumbup

Cheers Pikeman, must make a mental note of that one.
No problem Ash, i can get us to evesham, you can do the rest :thumbup and if the trummy lad comes with us he knows that part of the world and ownes a tom tom. Not that im a fan of those, some folk spend more time looking at em than the road

whooooo fish hill...mind you going up is ace going down is a bit wheeeeeeeeeeeyyyy
