Sunday 27th March South Wales to Mid Wales ride out (and back)

Ey up Pinny, that was why I said about flying down the motorway and the rest of the day on the scenic route, we drove down to Milan last year and had a really nice time of it, wouldn't mind doing it on a bike. Have a brilliant day and yes I am sick as a pig at having to work, the worst thing about it is, I probably won't get any calls.
Ride safe one and all.

Any problem if my mate comes along riding my old CB1300 ?
I'm still running the T in but I found out the trip meter records top speeds:eek I know I should read the handbook,I think it lied when it said 102, must be KPH officer,I have'nt been over 6000RPM honest:thumbup

gonna leave the route up to you guys as im not familiar with the roads !
Where are the west country boys meeting up and at what time ??

Where are you at Dave ? Im leaving burnham and gonna see if tuboy wants to meet up somewhere in bristol , maybe along the portway somewhere , let me know ?
Tuboy ,,, you want to meet up somewhere ?

sounds good mate, im at sunny weston so could meet anywhere you like really !!

Just up the road then , could meet up at brent knoll roundabout if you like , not sure wot time cause i dont know wot time we are supposed to be in abergavenny .

that'll be fine for me, do you mean the big Edithmead roundabout ( M5 junction 22 ) ?
Bay , Gilo any ideas on where and when to meet ?

Dave, shotgun, I suggest we hook up at Aust Services by the old Severn Bridge at 10.00am. I've arranged to meet Evlin at the Mitsubishi garage by that start of the Usk Rd at 10.15.

Bay has said we'll leave Aber at 11.00am, so that should give us plenty of time.

Sound ok to you guys??

The one before that as if your coming from weston , and then up the A38 , along the portway in bristol , along the coast road through Avonmouth , and then over the old bridge , better than the bloody motorway !

Re: the route after Llandovery - Evlin's suggestion is a good one but it may be that due to the large group size and lateish start from Aber time will be moving on when we leave the West End cafe - if people don't have too much time I suggest we head up to Builth Wells (got to love the roller coaster section) then head back down to Aber from there.

Right im off for a well earned pint down the local ! will pop on here tommorow night just to check nothing has changed , see you at Aust services Aka at 10 .
Dont forget that the clocks change at the weekend peeps !
Hope the weather is good to us .

***** I was out for the day me fella. It's not that long to llandovery. Only 45 mins from Aber fella. We'll be there midday ish. Coffee for half hour then onwards. We have to go to crossgates etc we just have to. It's the first big meet of the year ya *****

45 minutes: not on a 125 (I'm guessing, been a long time since I rode one!)

Coffee: bugger that, I want a fry-up.

I'm out for the day too, but some people have further to get home than I have, and a lot further than you ya sheep shagger! :biggrin

Just giving us options is all :thumbup

Me and my cbr6 riding mate will be there. Leaving Bridgend about 09:20.

So how many does that make it?

Yeah that's fine fella. 11am at Abergavenny. I'm off out a bit earlier for a spin myself and meeting gilo and Evlin in Chepstow for a run up the usk road.

Stix I'll have to total who's going and post tomorrow. Will have to write down names as if I try and remember off top of my head who's going bound to forget someone. Quick guess would be in excess of 14 or so. Quite a big group. Never ridden in more than 5 before but should be fun.

Depending on whether people have to get back but I was gonna do the longer route. The one gilo said is a good one though as well.

Right guys as I say to my little un "one more sleep to go". No point in me sending texts out tomorrow morning now as we've had brilliant weather the past week which is continuing in to next week so Sunday is go go go. 11am meet at Abergavenny bus station (my carpenter calls it the blue oyster bar due to all the leather clad people there) give or take a few mins. If people get there before 11 there'll be time for a coffee but plan is to set off as close to that time as poss and head off to Llandovery (better coffee stop). Laters I'm off to Longlete for the day to go see the lions ;)

Right bike checked over and ready leaving brum about 9 ish should be there on time if I'm late I'll head to Llandovery. If we get to crossgates/newtown way i'll leave you there as its a easier route home from there for me.

Is there a secret handshake when we meet?
