Sunday 27th March South Wales to Mid Wales ride out (and back)

Stix - sorry to hear you and your mate got left behind (we did wonder where you'd got to!). Good to meet you anyway and hope you enjoyed the ride to Llandovery.

Nice to meet you also Gilo. It was just one of those things nobody's fault apart from the CBRs dodgy electrical problem. We got back here and then it played up again so he's had to leave it here.

it wasnt untill i had left the cross gates cafe that i realised that you werent there Stix, glad to hear you finally got back ok and it was great to meet up with you all today.

Yes cheers fellas was a bit of a shame but cracking ride to Llandovery tho - can't believe it's 40 miles seemed to fly by. Nice to meet you too Dave. Glad you eventually had your brekkie ;)

DSCF9598.jpgThats really bad luck Stix. We all thought you'd gone back via Carmarthen rather than go to Builth Wells etc. Thats the trouble with large groups huh that u just don't realise sometimes when someone goes missing. Pity you missed the group photo taken by Newelly's daughter.

Had to crop the above photo as it was a bit big. Running from right to left is Newelly's mate on the 125cc Aprillia, Windy Miller, DaveB, Bay, AkaGilo, Shotgun, Tricky, Newelly, Zippyque and Shotguns mate riding a rather nice Speed Triple.

Weather wasn't as the forecasters had said it would be like but enjoyable ride all the same.

Maybe i did make the group pic, is that me in the petrol station behind ?

Hells bells STiX that was a really bad run of luck mate.

You just can't trust those Jap 4's! :whatsthat

I have to say that running as tail end Charly-Farnsbarne to ensure Matt didn't get left behind I kept finding myself out of sight of the bike in front and good old sat nav saved my bacon.

Actually though ... reading your thread again and sadness apart ,,,, ******* funny ! Dirt track, sheep ... that's the route that Dakar beast should have taken!

Hi lads/lass's - glad you lot had a great ride out :thumbup, Iam sitting here gutted i missed it :no...did try to bump start my T but no one around to help & with the thought of bumping it again at the petrol station up the road alas gave up :bawling
sounded like a good spin & pics looked great..bet the sound was awesome

Not sure Pinny. We took a while to arrange the bikes to be honest so you might have gone off by then. Otherwise we'd have asked you to join in. Was a kinda last minute thing. Probably the weather put people off tyaking too many pics. Hopefully though your mate or windy might have some good cam stuff.

Was good to meet up with everyone though and good on all the lads who travelled to get there. Hats off to all of you. Now thats commitment of the highest.

The only pisser of the day I though was the amount of cops about and the fact we got warned they were on the roads after the Llandovery stop. Makes you wary of going over the 60mph limit cos any excuse and they'll give you tickets.

What was all that about having 2 helicopters in the sky as well. What a feckin waste of the tax payers money. Maybe they've got some good video of Windy doing 120 across the Brecon bypass though.

PS Newelly considring you were playing catch up you were never behind by much pulling up at the stops and I wouldn't have said you lagged behind.

Quite funny how the only causalty of the day was a Jap bike though eh and all the Italian exotics were ok.

All thanks to Bay for setting this up:thumbup Had a great day & nice to put faces to the names,If that was taking it easy then I really am Mr Slow,. i did not see the Helicopters but then I did get lost on the way to Llandovery:bawling But did anyone notice the pair of Red Kites just outside of llandrindod Wells :thumbup They almost made me ride off the road:lol did i not tell you I was still running the T in ? BTW as kickstart in Port Talbot is the closest dealer to me can I trust them with the first service ?Also Bill on the CB1300 asked me to give his thanks for everyone being so friendly & making it a good day.. Stix we missed you ,hope you had fun today anyway:yes

I've heard they're a good dealership in Port Talbot Sticky and got recommended them by another Tuono owner although have not used them myself. If I can't get up to Griffs I'm going to entrust them with the 12K service. am I right in saying that the T's need a service at 12K? Just another 800 miles for me for that one then.

I hardly set it up Tricky just put a post on the forum and then everyone else just joined in. I saw one kite on the ride but to be honest they're a fairly regular occurance up around that way. I see them all the time as I work in Brecon.

Does anyone have an y similar riding country anywhere near them which we can travel to next time?

It's funny now but it was ******* scary at the time. Looked it up on google maps and it isn't even down as a road it's just a faint line!!

Me & Roly were like Ewan & charley FFS :)

Tregaron across to llyn brianne reservoir. Have a look it's funny as ****! You can't get any more in the middle of nowhere. Didn't see 1 car in about 30 mins.

You put up the post so you take the praise / blame * delete as appropriate.I am still buzzing ,first ride of the year on the first sportsbike i have owned for ages.. After I left you lot at Crossgates I ended up going back to Abergavenny via Talgarth & Tretower.Nice road.. Back at at the Bus station (More coffee needed) the first thing that happened when I parked up was A ZX900r owner coming up to me & asking what the T was like as he was thinking of getting one but was unsure how an Italian V Twin can measure up to a jap IL4 ... I said you should have been here 6 hours ago:kicknuts As he seemed to be around the same age as us :laugh I told him to get a test ride then if he could stop grinning long enough to get his wallet out he would not be disappointed. Have I done the right thing people:dunno

To be honest Tricky I don't reckon u coulda got back to Abergavenny much before us and the way we went. What u reckon Gilo. Prob about the same eh????

The sound was awesome. I realised tho I was the only one with a standard can!!

LOL!

I've just had a look ... it's the sort of environment "the men from Hereford" go to train!

Well done for getting home safely

It was touch and go. Lost the back end about 5 times on gravel. Left hand killing from slipping the clutch for so long. Half way up there were two blokes on crossers looking at us in disbelief. I'm sure I saw a mutant playing a banjo at one point.
