Sunday 27th March South Wales to Mid Wales ride out (and back)

I expect Windy will have his cam attached to his huuuge bonce so we'll have lots of footage of the fine blue Welsh sky on Sunday... :cheers

Right it's nearly that time. Fine weather booked for the 27th. What's the thought on the route then. My suggestion is Abergavenny to Llandovery. Whos going to suggest from there on then

Don't know those roads at all matey, so I bow to your greater knowledge :)

I'm gonna have to show that post to the wife. I wish she'd bow to my greater knowledge when parking. Won't take any advice at all saying she's never had any accidents (I wrote a car off 3 yrs ago in the winter). Trouble is she's reversed into a wall, reversed into my car while parking in the garage, scraped the front drivers wing on the garage while parking, rear drivers side wing pulling out and hitting a skip, left hand lower side spoiler on a raised driveway and day before yesterday rear drivers door dented and scratched to **** by impaling herself on the garage wall then asking what she'd hit. Well I nearly hit the roof and said "you say you've had no accidents but you've bumped nearly every panel on your car parking and reversing into mine. You've not had major accident but surely all those dings on your car should be classed as accidents as there's over £1000 pounds worth of damage to your car by all the accidents you've supposedly not had".

Wife's are fab aren't they.

I try to shut up when mine is driving even though I'm dying to mention the fact she is always too close to the car in front, and for some reason flies up to junctions when the lights are red and then rams on the anchors.

However, when I am driving I get a constant commentary on how my driving is **** & why. Its lucky I'm so laid back otherwise she would have been decapitated a long time ago.

According to my phone its going to be 12 degrees C, and the BBC 14 degrees C.

So I think its leathers and summer gloves - woohoo!!

That's what I wore yesterday on my 2 hr spin (on strike in work!!) and it was just right :thumbup

Although I think yesterday was about 16/17 degrees around here.

stix, no matter what road you go on after Llandovery it will be great. bay i reckon A483 up to crossgastes fantastic road might be lots of cops about mind!!! but plenty of roads to crossgates that run along side well kind of! to the the A483, maybe see what folks want on the day

The routes fairly easy anyway. Straight on at every roundabout and no turnings right or left anyway. It's just pretty much one big circle. Easy for me to say though. Newelly is your mates 125 capable of 70mph plus. That's the speed I do on averag and aren't thinking of going any faster in Sundays group ride. Just conscious we don't want to lose anyone. Will have to get my camera charged up for Sunday. I can't bloody wait.

My mate might be coming now as well on his older CBR600, hope that's ok if he does?

I'm with you on that one Bay - no need to go nuts. I went for a blast yesterday and I think at one point I hit 91 but most of the time it was more like 60-70. Oh 91 was on a private road of course :thumbup

Should be a nice day out,
Last year i did from Coalville to Milan in one day, not on a T though.

I hit 110 but that was on a duel carriageway and my mates were doing the same. Won't do that on country roads. Ps some guy in a corsa tried to race us. What is it with blokes in underpowered cars trying to race overpowered bikes ;)

I don't find that so much around here. When I used to have my Impreza though I always had little twats trying to race me - in Saxos/Corsas etc. One day someone tried it on in a f***ing Ford Ka. My Impreza was running 325bhp so it wasn't exactly slow either!
