103mph in a 70 zone

A lot depends on whether the beak wants his/her name in lights or has got a cob on.

If a woman beak a nice soft approach with yor excuse and plenty of humility .

I have 8 points and I have slowed down a lot but when the open road beckons I tend to get carried away .

In the car I do tend to stick to the limits. I may get a cap.

always remember........, they cannot eat you.

Olaf as a general rule you can't alter whats going to happen. Go to Assen, enjoy yourself have a great time, ride it like you stole it (obviously within the constraints of the speed limits ;) ) come back with good memories and deal with the court when you need to.

Whats going to happen is going to happen and there aint owt we can do about it.

Will definitely have been a van - theyre everywhere up here. Sitting waiting over blind crests and hiding round corners ! Call themselves safety camers - but theyre just a revenue exercise and manned by coppers on overtime ( I work with a special copper & yeah he's a bundle of joy!). Hope it goes well for ya - Im nervously waiting for the post cos I passed a van at Tebay on the motorway last Tuesday - wasnt doing a ton but wasnt far off !

You having a laugh? :coocoo

Its the special who has told you this I presume? :dowhat

I once rode at an indicated 160mph down the A5 on my TLR ... with a Honda Blackbird and a GSXR100 ... and I can remember thinking as I went beyond 120mph "well, if I'm caught now ... my licence is well gone" ... but it was only traffic, not an epiphany that stopped me going for the absolute max

Red mist

Gets us all at some point!

couldnt agree more with that statement, whats the point worrying about something u have no control over, all u can do is hope for the best and hope u get the magistrate on a good day.
as for ur day in court,if possible get a m8 to ride up with u,appear before the beek in full leathers carrying ur helmet, explain all about u needing ur bike for work, etc etc,and hope he takes pity on u and lets u ride home,if not then at least u can get a lift back with ur m8.
second turn up suited and booted, tell them that ur wife/girfriend/parents have made u sell the bike and forbidden ever to buy another one,but u still need ur licence for work.
good luck and i hope u get off lightly

I got a letter back stating they have accepted my details & will contact me in due course. Just waiting now.

Assen was a real blast.

On the way there someone got a puncture (Kawasaki)
Someone else had a battery die just as they got near the ferry, bought another at Halfords (really helpful sales person even gave us a screwdriver). (Another Kawasaki)
Someone else had an end come off on the cluch cable just as we set off home at Assen. (Fireblade).

I was the only Tuono rider out of 10 that went, but a few are now considering trading their bikes in for one (especially BMW GS1200 riders)

The main racing was predictable, a bit of a "follow my leader" after the first couple of laps.

The earlier race on the 600`s was a bit more exciting, a few battles on the corners & some of them sliding off in the damp conditions.

I heard that the dutch ports were breathalising every biker that came off the ferry at other places, but totally ignoring the cars. Europort was OK though.

Hoorah for the mighty Tuono.
I like Hairy's idea of telling them you've been forced into selling the bike.

Well, I have just received a summons (on 3rd Dec) to attend carlisle court for my offence.
Date of offence 4th June, thats 5 months & 30 days later.
Just when you think our judicial system doesn`t have a sense of humour.

I have a couple of questions for some of you experts or those who have previous experience of this.

1. On the front page of the summons, last line of the section called "Offences" it states that "This offence carries penalty points"
No mention of a ban. As I have a clean liscence, does that mean I wont get banned ?

2. In the section called "Offences", it gets all specific about the offence, rules, regs, dates, references etc.
It gives a brief summary of what happened, where it happened etc, specifying which laws I have broken.
But, in the description of my bike it states - "Aprilia Tuono 125", then correctly identifies the registration.
Does this constitute a reason for me to get off ?

A nice Christmas prezzy.

I was once done for 103 in a 70. Told a load of bollowx about camera cross hairs need to be on flat surface not on tyre etc |& took legal advise, basically the brief told me. Unless you want to go down the road of getting calibration records, putting up a defence at whatever cost & that if you were likely to have been speeding best bet is to just plead guilty & learn your lesson unless you are Katie Price or some footballer who can afford to do so. I waas fined about £180.00 & had an 18 day ban. (M4 near Cardiff & Neath Magistrates Court.) I was also done for about 145 on M3 Near Southhampton & Ended up in Winchester Magistrates Court. 6 Month Ban & about a £600.00 fine. I think in both cases Totting up took priority over the actual offence and as was sitting on 9points on both occasions. Just shows how there can be regional variations.

Get a good solicitor, they no what to say and how to say it. like BF says dont just throw ur hands up to it .There but for the grace of god and all that, Fingers crossed for yer.

Plus one on that. Olaf, Get a bike solicitor, not the usual goon type that only want your money. There are some in the MCN. Dont think you'll get a ban, just **** load of points and big fine, some of
which will go for one of those silly training days. Fingers crossed for you too.

It was one of the MCN solicitors that gave me the advise, depends on how much money you can afford to put up for your defense V's Can you live without your license for however long & acceot whatever fine that is on a scale.

My brother has managed to keep his license on at least two occasions by pleading exceptional hardship etc etc, but has had massive fines & solicitors fees of both occasions. So horses for courses

No,because the magistrates could,in theory, give you 12 points .

No,the last time I was done, the summons stated the bike was a Ducati Hyper1000,.....The bike was in fact a Ducati Hypermotard 1100,....still got done.

TM yer lucky yer didnae get a spell in the jail fir the 145.

O a hope yer get a result mucker.

Not having any points should help.
Normally if you are 30 over the limit you will get a ban, but in many cases, pleading you need your licence for work will give a heafty fine and points.
You could say it didn't arrive till tuesday, just out of time? Could be worth a shot as its so close, it may work?

personally, if yer dont sign fer it, i,d put it in the bin..

it never arrived and nobody can prove otherwise.

The totting up took priority over the actual offense so maybe I was lucky.

The Police man who pulled me never saw the funny side when he asked me where I wqas going to which I replied "The Festival of Speed at Goodwood." I was working there at the time.

A ban and a fine , I was fined £ 65 and 5 points. 50 in a 30 and that was slowing down. last May
