103mph in a 70 zone

Newelly, I like the thought of solidarity, but on this occasion, it might back-fire (pun intended).

I though about using a brief, most people in my situation advise having one, but initially his advice was that if I did not need my liscence, a short ban was the preferred result, only because I would not get the points for the next 3 years.

I though about his skills in reducing the size of the fine, but by the time I have paid him, I doubt if I will be any better off.

But, in the end, I decided to use one, a local from Carlisle. I dont suppose he can make matters worse. He might even be a mate of the beak.

have you not got legal support through your insurance, i used a solicitor through my insurance once and won, it didn't cost me a penny

great tip

most people sign up to insurance without much consideration of "extras"

Legal protection might well be worth a punt

I'm still sticking at £400 and 60 day ban ... but I hope the beak goes easy!

Were you speeding most likely doing over a ton & got caught. Yes - No Forget all the ******** that's being suggested to you about briefs etc. If you were doing over a ton & got caught it's likely your going to get banned unless your name is Jordon, John Terry or somebody famous that can afford thousands on legal representation. Only question is how long & how much. How long depends on the Magistrate on the day how much depends on means testing & how willing you arfe to Blag. Face up to reality & forget all the ******** being suggested by wanna be legal advisors. Your likely to get banned & a fine over £300.00 get on with yer life it's not worth losing the sleep over what might happen.

Was once given some good advise. " There's two things you should never worry about. 1. Something you can do something about 2. Something you can't do anything about." I think this situation falls into cat 2.

Sorry Tricky but that is not a valid bet.

Please state an exact amount of points and £

Just got back home from court so I thought I would update you.

Not sure who was closest in the guessing game, but I got 6 points & a £340 fine (plus costs on top).

I was told I was lucky to keep my liscence, so I am happy with that.

Even my solicitor was expecting a month ban.

The letter my boss wrote certainly helped, plus lots of grovelling.

For info, the solicitor I used was called "Wragg, Mark Bell" based in Carlisle - £300 plus VAT.

It was one of their juniour solicitors, a very nice young woman who even rode a R6.

I would reccommend them, even though I hope not to see them again.

Brooksy has just called with good wishes on the result (his tyrettes is getting worse).

Anyway, to celebrate, he is suggesting a ride out on sat 7th, the forecast is still dry.

Any of the geordie lot up for it.

Morning is sunny, but anytime suits me.

Just an hour or so, till the cold sets in.

is that close enough for ya

back in 2001 i got caught doing 106mph on a dual carriageway(A38), the cop gave me **** and promised me a ban, anyway long story short i pleaded guilty, said i was very sorry and that I'd had a clean licence and came away with a £350 fine and 6 points, happy days, so its all down to the magistrates on the day, fingers crossed his Mrs gave him a cracking ******** the night before

(and yes i know there are 3 of them)

the conversation was more along the lines of you having more jam than the world famous dodger,
does this mean the ride out in the morning will be rather sedated with ample time to take in the scenery lol
ring you in the morning dude

Brooksy, constant 360 degree checks for Uncle Olaf from now on.

Its always the ones you dont spot that get you though.

We came back along the A69 from Carlisle, within minutes I thought that it was a good road for biking, lots of nice sweeping bends.

Then round a bend, we spotted a yellow camera van parked up in a lay by.

For the remainder of the ride back to Newcastle, there seemed to be a "safety" camera on every straight & round each bend.

Unless you want admire the scenery & have a nice steady ride, its best to avoid this road, its obviously a good money spinner.

Looking fwd to tomorrow.

I swap to a false plate with Myths reg whenever I want to misbehave.

The ANPR sees the bike ... measures the speed ... looks at the owners details and says "computer says no" and lets me go.

Good old Myth
