wheres the best place to put the live wires in to:dunno

Where are you mounting the actual unit?

If it's behind the instrument pod then all you have to do is probe a connector that has 12v with the ignition on and 12v or more when the engine is running.

Make sure it is not live when the ignition is off or it'll drain your battery.

Make sure you put an in line fuse on the feed line just in case.

Best place for the main unit for rs3, hooked and I was in the rear as we have the HID kits fitted, I have fitted my unit right at the very back under the tail unit, Earth direct to Battery, and I put mine to the LIVE on the rear lights, I never start my bike with my lights on....so doing it this way was making sure I wasnt putting any extra drain on the battery before the engine is started.

How big is the unit Smiffy?

As the system is designed for bikes I would have assumed it was no bigger than a matchbox.!!

its about the size of a large match box you know the cooks size one just a bit slimer

Question answered above, its about 5-6 inchs, long and 3/4inch deep, stood on its side and with the tools packed neatly you might get it tucked in with the tools

Cheers Pointer mate,

So no chance it'll fit up front then.

Suppose it's best to fit at the rear then, I'd probably take the feed and earth directly from the battery, making sure an in line fuse is used.

Box of cooks matches! Christ that's quite large for just a simple GPS unit.

FFS I work for the largest roadside recovery company in the world, I aint fixing me bike roadside, that would be doing one of my guys out of a job.

Only kidding - FFS, every time I read a thread on here I realise that I have another bit to buy for the bike.
