Chaps, it seems that Sunday 20th September could fit with a few of my mates etc.. Looking to ride from Settle to Hawes and could meet at the Tickled Trout for Leylanders etc.. Let me know who can / cant and see what we come up with..:::thumbup

gutted now. if my bike wasn't for sale i'd defo come. i'll prob have another bike by then but not an ape :no
 
Dont need to be an ape Dan.. My mate's are on R1's / Gixers etc.. All welcome as far as i'm concerned... Just an excuse for a load of muppets to talk boll**ks :)
 
No probs at all mate, very welcome.. Thanks for the reply.. I will post a bit more info over the next few days about the route and meeting points etc.. Anymore out there up north fancy a ride out? Initially Passing Wigan the upto Leyland (m6 corridor) then off to ride a route from Settle to Hawes from a recent Bike Mag article - 22 Miles of roads with comparison's to the Nurburgring surface and no cameras enroute. All abillities welcome (I say that because i am a bit of a novice anyway!!).....

Its an awesome bit of road... love it - for some reason (for me at least) it flows much better going other direction Hawes to Settle. :dunno:dunno
I guess most of you will know it but if you've not ridden it before dont get sucked in too deep by its charms there are quite a few yumps that'll have the unwary out of the seat (at the very least) but dont let that put you off its just you need to read it well to go as fast as you'll want to. :eek:
Oh BTW no cameras but very often mobile units and unmarked police. :jack:jack
Keep the thread going and nearer the date will see of anyone from round here wants a ride up for a meet and greet at least. :thumbup:thumbup
 
Thanks for the advise Beechy, Mucho Gracias.. As i said i am a bit wet behind the ears and all info is welcome and might be that most up north know the route?? If not, better that you turn up anyway & everyone can follow you lot and i'll catch up at the other end... Hopefully a bit of fun anyway.... :)
 
have to agree with beechy it can catch you out if not paying attention as i found out one day:roll but don,t let it put you off its a belter
but sounds a good day out so if i,m not at the gold cup olivers mount i,ll join on to the ride out live in accrington so keep us posted on the routes for meet up places:thumbup
 
Right, my initial thoughts on the route meeting points will be as follows - :dunno

1st Meet - M6 Junction 23 Haydock Island (Fuel Station) 10.00am
2nd Meet - M6 junction 31 Tickled Trout (Fuel Station) 10.45am
3rd Meet - A59 Gisburn - Junction with A59 / A682. 11.30am

(All times / locations flexible:dunno)

Then Route A682, A65 to Settle..

Main Ride - B6255 / B6479 Settle To Hawes..

If those who are coming could give me a definite reply, obviously subject to no problems between now and then it would be appreciated.

I can then post how many will be going on the day and poss let a pub know we are coming with Bikes etc..

With regards to the Lancaster guys, I initially thought that the Tickled Trout is sort of central from where we are and where they are before we turn off the M6, but sorry, didn't consider them meeting at Lancaster and riding down. Might be best if someone from Lancaster area suggests a place / time which fits in with them meeting up and riding down to the Tickled Trout for the suggested meet time?

If any others are interested in coming from other areas please throw in your requirements / thoughts etc. All welcome...:thumbup

Just to confirm that I had the main idea of all coming from various points and main meeting point to be the Tickled Trout, J31 M6 before taking the route, obviously with the Gisburn meet enroute.. :thumbup
