Northern Exposure - Fudfest III

Ah like the smell ay that min.

Right Gmin, div yi funcie coming up early morning and gan fur a hurl? Meet up wae me in Peternapper and ging aw the y to Spean Bridge with us, then yi jist leave us there and head back doon through Killin an awe that places.

SloMo, ye got yer Googly maps sorted oot yet min....need tae plan mah fuel ledger layoot

gadgie, a canae be arsed workin it oot. A assume the mileage is fae yer gaff but that's neither here nor there. Will the second day be a run tae JoG and then back doon the A9 ???
If we're goin tae Tounge on the saturday a'll probably hook up wae ra squad at Spean.
Book me in fir the b&b but a'll need tae square yer up first cause if it's gonae pish doon fir baith days am oot.
Let me know whit's whit and as fir ma input a think if the weathers wae us we should be lookin at the Wester Ross Coastal Route wae b&b roon aboot Durness.
A lot more miles but if the conditions are dry yer love every mile of it.

r, a've heard yer need tae pay some engerlish fud fir a pic at JoG.

It's his sign post.

r never mind the ledger we need tae find oot whit, where and when the petrol staitions open on a sunday, dudes we're venturin intae the back of beyond.
It's one hell of a shove tae get yer T fae JoG tae Inverness.

Auld platic 2 litre Irn Bru bottle in the rucksack wi extra reserve motion lotion micht be an idea.

Like the idea o the "richt roond the top" jaunt tho:thumbup

Aldos planted a seed in ma napper SloMo...whit aboot this routin fur an option...mega day in the saddle but how often are ye likely tae dae this run eh?
an this direction means we should get petrol in decent steps once oot in the wilds o the West

Day 1
Peterhead
Huntly
Avimore (meet Aldo here)
Then scoot up A9 tae Inverness
Ullapool
Then richt up the coast road tae Durness
Alang the top tae Thurso fur supper an bed.

Thats 280 miles worth ( a bit mair fur Aldo) Google maps reckon 6 an a half hoor worth but mair likely 10 wi fuel, coffee an *** stops!

Day 2

Thurso
Alness
Inverness
along the lochs tae Spean Brig
Back along Laggan tae Avimore
Huntly
Peterheid

A mere 340 miles Sunday bimble!

aboot 620 total

Wiv done this miles afore

Whit diz folk think?

r, a've done similar routes all over the top in a day and all a can say is it's truly stunning if it's dry and not blowing a force10.

Right gadgie yer said yer want a run and no one o they roon the block feckers, get yer seamless boxers on and lets feckin GO.

Yer gonae be The Ayatollah of Rock & Rolla.

That sounds like a lot of fun, wish I could join you.

Mind you, petrol stops will be fun, Avimore, Ulapool, Durness, Helmsdale/Brora, Spean Bridge, and Huntly would be the safe options, not the cheapest places in the UK for go juice.

Rico,

That is a fair old run, me old bones are aching at the thought, may have to dig oot me poncy airhawk seat to reduce arse ache. If the weather is crap it will be a right slog. However day 1 if weather is crap, just a thought, miss the Ullapool and roon the top and just head up north fae Inverness to Thurso.
Day 2 again if weather crap there are shortcuts that can be done by most folk, not sure aboot Aldo though.
If its thurso for bed the Royal hotel has rooms, £40 for single bed and breakfast, £66 for twin bed and breakfast. If booked via booking.com they can be cancelled for no charge up to the 22nd. Just incase of real bad weather.
Just some thoughts

nob, a've got the A9 as an escape and thanks fir the thought, if it's gonae pissh fir baith days am oot any wae.

Seems tae me this is always the conundrum wae fests, rally's, meet ups and the like.

Do yer kit up wae yer campin gear and bulk aboot like Fritz or der yer book it up and spend too much time diallin in whit if's wae yer time/mileage etc.

Am 54 soon, so a suppose that 'll make me 53 7/8th the noo.

A've never bin stuck fir somewhere to rest ma heid and it doesnae ever bother me.

Whit a mean is fuckit let's jist go and see where the road takes us.

A've got a nights pass oot and by **** am gonae use it.

Aldo min,

Well said, was sort o what i wiz tryin to say, go for it and if weather ***** there are options to lesson the pain, and if all the forecasters say its gonna be horrendous can ease the pain on the wallet. (that last bit is important to a tight wad scotsman lol )

nob the only tight wads a've experienced are them buy yer own bitter engerlish and any fud fae fife the jiner excluded (don't no why though)
And if that's an excuse fir yer pockets bein stitched up yer barkin up the wrang tree, yer's is the first and last round.

Look forward tae yer buyin me a pint mucker.:thumbup

Iain, whit are the options.

I'll say this though it's not every weekend I could afford to run 600+ miles.

Aldo min,

Yer right, there is an english guy at me work, he never joins in the "kitty" on nechts oot, just buys his own, must think we are tryin to con him or something.
And nae bother, lookin forward to buyin a roond for the Fuds.

Lookin forward tae meetin the man wae an ICBM.

Don't tell anyone here a love kawas.

Sounds like yer got a goodin there nob, when yer get tae Aultbea do the extra mile tae Mellon Charles and take a picy.

See if yer frontal K can mix it wae a t and a duc sf.

Nob, Cry yersel barry and stick on a false hooter.
