Hi Guys,

RSV newbie from Essex.

Got myself a 2002 with 15500 miles on for good money and am very happy with it except for a snatchy throttle when coming off throttle and trying to gently increase again. Its had the wire cut mod done already, i removed the top hat in the airbox (although the hole still looks the same size really) and fitted a MTC GP Pro can.

Hi all,

I live in Aberdeen Scotland and bought an 04 RSV Mille last august. I was actually looking for an old blade to make into a streetfighter, for old broken hands reasons, but was talked into looking at some v-twins but a Guzzi owning friend of mine. I fell for this bike as soon as I saw it and had to have it, always liked a sexy *** !! ha ha ha ha.

I love the bike and am now quite used to it and dont miss the old 4s any more. I have had a blade, R1 and Gixer 1000 in the past and this bike, tho lacking a little in power, out handles em all and its way more comfortable too.

I am still having sore hand issues so am considering putting on a "comfort kit" to take the pressure off my hands, and maybe even strip it a bit to be a bit of a street fighter, but not a tuono. Tho I am usually met with dirty looks and scowls when I mention such things, even from non Aprilia owners !

Anyway, I just thought I would intro myself as I have some issues that I need help with.

I am having starting problems and from what I see on some threats, after replacing faulty battery, I am now looking at a dogey starter solenoid. I am on limited budget so dont want to be replacing things that dont require it, just yet anyway. I am going to get a sparky in to have a look and replace solenoid if required.

I have seen some threads on reliability mods, but is there an actual list somewhere with advice and tips on whats to be done ? I need to sort out the side stand, as I already pulled a hamstring last year when I fell off it, in a Santa suit, when it just toppled over cos stand is too long. So I know the switch needs looking at, some other bits and pieces have been mentioned too.

So if theres a list can someone point me towards it :)

I want to make full use of the sparky when hes around and do all I can when I got hold of mates paddock stands too. I can even take some more pics.

Hoping for a great biking summer !!! Highlands here I come :)

Cheers, George.

Hi all,

daz casey, just saying hello. Came to the forum via a web link about modded filters for my '04 RSVR as i'd just ordered both in case. Pretty sure i've got the standard length anyway.

Loving the bike, had it for 18 months now and no reason to change. Just looking forward to this UK weather to sort it's watsit out then i'll be out.

cheers

Hi all,

Bought myself a 2002 RSV Mille R back in Feb and am very happy with it. Have replaced the steering head bearing which fixed a wobbly handling issue, got new Pirelli Corsa Rosso's fitted as the old tyres had a bit of a flat spot, restored flakey lacquer, and reset the suspension settings to standard, all of which has made the bike feel great. Just need the guys at MCT to set it up for me (as they did my old CBR) and get myself on a track day to really see what it's like :)

Thanks,
James

Hellooo!

Just bought a 58 RSV1000R covered just 2000 miles and immaculate, has a few upgrades inc Akropovic cans, brake levers and trickle charger oh and lots of carbon parts imported from the USA which makes it look stunning.

Laugh or cry this is my first bike after passing my test last year! Picking it up tuesday and cant wait! (weather permitting!)

Nick

Hello guys,

My name is Dan and recently i got the idea of buying an RSV 1000. I owned only Honda bikes till now (cbr600 F2, cbr600 F4i sport and a cbr929 fireblade).
Now i'm married and due to having a kid.

I really like this bikes V engine roar and looks/design.
Now, i have a question for you RSV/Tuono owners.

I want to buy an RSV 1000 and turn it into a streetfighter (because i have a limited budget, i can't afford a tuono in the first place)
My question is... the 2001 model is worth the extra moeny VS. 1999-2000 models?
I mean, for what i want to do with the bike do you think the 2001 model is worth it with it's upgrades ?

Dry roads ! :)

Hello everyone, just purchased my first aprilia. Its a 2004 RSV 1000R factory Haga edition. its a little scratched up from the previuos owner but im working on it. Take a look at the photos tell me what ya think. I am a newbie to aprilia to you'll see lots of q's from me. Im located in cleveland oh if theres any locals. thanx

Hi, been a member for a bit now but didn't introduce myself (which was a bit rude). Brought a RSV1000RR (04) about three years ago and keep it taxed and MOT etc all year; which hasn't helped the 'lectrics. So the advice from the forum has been invaluable. Am sort of in the NE Derbys NW Notts area.

Hello my name is Dave I have got a 56 reg rsvr factory and I love it! I put some cans on it a couple of weeks ago then took it to Griffs for map 2 and a tune up. It had 1800 miles on it wen I got it now it 4300 on it I'm from north Derbyshire here is a picture of the bike.

Hi there
First post to introduce myself. I'm Mac from Cumbria.
Just bought my first Mille yesterday. After a few 4 potters I fancied a twin - why did I wait so long?
Had a glorious 170 mile ride back home to the Lakes from Scotland through the Borders on it - soulful :doug
Got a clutch query butwill find the right place to post that message.
Cheers
Mac

Hey RSV Haga. I just bought my first RSV as well. I've spent many years on Ducatis and found a rare Aprilia so i thought, "why not give them a try?". I'm glad I did. May not be as fast or as light as my Ducati, but she has a great feel, character, and looks very cool. Also I like the Aprilia for not being so commonplace. I live near Medina. Perhaps we can get together for a ride and enjoy the perfect weather we have been having!

Hi, new here, bought this Factory in March after wanting an RSV for a good while. Had a few other twins, Honda NTV, VTR1000, Suzuki SV1000 and still got a KTM 950 Adventure and some trials projects.
