Seems like mostly Brits here but I've been on Silverstone,Brands,Snetterton back in the day in Formula Ford and lived in Chelsea for a while so somewhat familiar. I envy you for your great roads. I just got a 2000.5 mille r (2000 in Europe?) with 4700 miles after having an '04 rc51. I think I like the mille better but it's a close call. Rc was more reliable(from what I read), had steel tank, started instantly no matter the temp, cheaper and better parts availability, but the mille seems more comfortable, much more nimble, and way better looking. Anyway cheers and hope I can contribute once in a while.

Hi

I found that this bike is extremely light for its class I also have a 1991 GSXR750M and compared it seems the RSV is bulimic!!

I must say for a 998cc fully faired its no ...........lardass!!!!!!!!!!:thumbup

Hi everyone, new RSV Mille owner here

As it says on the title, i´m a new RSV1000 owner (2002 R model, matt black) from Portugal. Owned around 37 bikes over the last 18 years (been riding almost everyday since i started this motorcycle riding thing).

It´s been mostly Kawasakis for me (though i´ve owned bikes of 8 different brands), and after a few years off the racing/Track Day stuff, the bug has awoken and bitten yet again (at 43, and a heavy fooker...and i also weigh a lot :thumbup :biggrin), so off the Fazer 1k went, and in the Priller came. Happy as a midget at a mini-skirt party thus far :banana

Also own a Triumph Trident 900 (beautyfull utter ******* of a thing), who´s been living at a shop for the last couple of months, to see if they can sort the electrics so i can ride it when i want to, not when it feels like it...(wich has been seldom for the last few years).

Anyway, my RSV is a former demo bike for a dealer, wich was bought by a guy who decided he enjoys the poop stuff better than the beautifull smooth tarmac. It had around 10.000 miles when i got it (15 days ago) and i´ve since ridden it for another 800 miles or so.

She´s stock, but i´got news today that my order from bikehps is arriving this week : MRA double-bubble screen, plus two sets of R&G frame sliders, one upper, one lower. Not to happy about the idea of drilling the carbon side-panels to install de upper ones, but decided it´s prefferable to the bad-luck alternative...

I´m probably buying a PC3 from this guy who let´s it go (new) for 160 euros, as i´ll definitely want to get a new endcan soonish.

Ok, that´s it for now, cheers everyone.

Hi Guys,

My name is Lee & I bought an RSV Factory back in June last year. It was an impulsive buy as i only went to the shop to get a new bearing. I have to say, i absolutely love it. By far the best bike that i have owned so far.

Since the photo, i've fitted a full akrapovic system which impress the neighbours on an early morning commute.

8 days after purchase i was booked on a track day at brands, which was followed up by another couple over the summer. I can't wait to get out for some more fun as soon as the weather warms up.

Welcome to the forum Lee,
thats a nice bike,
I know what you meen about impulse buy's,I went to an auto jumble looking for old tiger cub wheels
ended coming home with a 1936/37 knucklhead ,lol
the mrs was not impressed...

Cheers Pat,

I think the quote is "it's easier to seek forgiveness than seek permission" or something close.

Hi Guys n Gals
I’m 45 and live in Manchester. I really wanted a Tuono for a trackbike, but I didn’t fancy having £3k in a track bike. So a couple of months ago I bought a CatD 2002 Mille for £1450, plan for the bike was to just strip off the road gear and ride the thing as it was, but I got a bit carried away. I’ll stick some photo’s up, let me know what you think
Cheers Fred
