Oil and plugs will arrive tomorrow so should be set to ride on Wednesday! Cant wait!

She is back together

Completed the front cylinder this evening after work, changed the spark plugs and installed the new 150amp solenoid. Got it all back together apart from fairing lowers, do still need to move the tank back on its hinge as it is to far forward.. need to figure out how to get to this..

Front clearances now - Intake - both 0.15 and Exhaust both 0.25 :pirate

Will be firing it up first thing after work tomorrow :banana:scared:smilie

Next on the list is oil and filter change.. should be ready for the sun soon!!!

Blooming hope not mate, since I have had it I have done 3 tanks of premium and 1 of normal..

I need to have a butchers at the hinge area me thinks..

As soon as I finished work today I fired her up and took her for a spin. I have picked up a set of used Gold Gilles rear sets with the money I have saved on the service :thumbup

The top of the engine is noticeably louder as expected due to the valves actually having some clearance! Click the image below for a video..

Unfortunately in my haste to get out on the bike I managed to leave the U shaped fairing piece by the exhaust on the bike :doh

Any tips on removing the plastic from the exhaust?

Anyone have one lying about they don't need?

Draining the oil out as I type.. service light will be reset shortly. My clock seems to have reset for some reason? Perhaps fitting the new solenoid did this? Back to KM also but mileage still OK.

To remove the melted plastic re- heat the exhausts and when hot scrape the plastic away from the pipes. For the last bits just sand paper it. Done that, been there !! :eek:h:eek:h:eek:h

Good plan on the zorst.. Had a feeling I wouldn't be the only one.. Hopefully the tank just needs adjusting at the rear..

Looks like a GP shift pattern you've got there... How do you find it? Take some getting used to or feel pretty normal?

Whats a GP shift pattern? :confused

I have only ridden it for about 5 miles with the new rear sets and I have had to adjust it the lever for gear change was too far down. Will be out again tomorrow hopefully.

It feels very smooth and has no free play which I am chuffed with as on previous bikes I have found without a direct lever free play can be an issue.

:cheers

GP Shift is 1 up, five down as opposed to the standard 1 down, 5 up...

Thought you might have meant that Mark.. no it is standard 1 down 5 up. Unless I have installed it the wrong way.. would be interesting to try a gp set up but I would imagine I'd prefer what I'm used to.

Ah ok, the way the remote connects to the foot pedal is different to other set ups I see on closer inspection. I've thought about getting a GP shift and some woodcraft rear-sets from AF1 for quite some time, was wondering if anybody had done it and how it worked for them? It's reasonably expensive to get it here to NZ and it'll be a lot of money to waste if it's crap hahahaha
