Hi Mike,

Cheers mayyytee

Enjoying the evolution myself :thumbup

Glad your enjoying the thread.

I pulled the shock linkage apart again yesterday and installed the teflon washers to prevent any rubbing issues.

Was thinking about this , might take mine apart for a clean and inspection , might look at the shimming issue if it needs it
Need a longer side stand first tho ,so it's on paddock stands at the moment , welding tomorrow

Well worth taking the linkage apart mate, in fact you cant afford not to..

Lots of reported issues with these snapping.

The evolution has only just begun :biggrin

Having great fun with this bike.. both working on it and riding. Like many others have said, they are begging for mods!

My girlfriend is getting excited about the akras which is cool! :thumbup

Hi Woodzy,
Did you get the teflon washers of a certain thickness? I wonder how much play is there or do you just fit a few more if there is still play for dust/dirt to get in?
ps riding and spannering: that is Aprilia life!
pps: just found out that my tank bolts (the ones close to the yoke) were just not tight at al.. I must have forgotten these when we were spannering for a few hours at the BP in Portsmouth when by baby didn't start. I've been riding for weeks since! It shows what a good clean does for your bike: you inspect everything!!!
Cheers.

Lol

I was asking for that haha

I fitted them on recommendation from a thread on rsv net. I'll post up the link when I find it. I put one on each side main reason for them is to prevent the side plates and dog bone from being damaged. Didnt check clearance... I will though

Any specific reason you bought nylon washers and not teflon (PTFE) washers?
By the time you're done your the Southern polishing expert :devious

I found a link on RSVNET to these washers so thought I would give them ago :thumbup Time will tell..

As for the polishing....Ive done enough polishing on the system now.. I am no expert and I am pleased with how its come up..

Slight problem with clearance between the rear set and link pipe.

Hopefully once I fit the pegs and straps it will be ok...

The can still needs polishing properly..

This is pure bike **** and you should publish this sound. I'll rather hear that than listen to radio 1.

Did you use a normal polish with polish wheel in your drill? I have done mine with the old dremel, but that is not suitable for larger areas.
