Hi Guys! Just joined the club and wanted to say hello... Picked my Tuono 1000 R last saturday :) In awe ever since :p
I live in Banbury, UK and only did my licence August last year. Had only suzukis so far (GS125, GS500, SV650, SV1000S) but Tuono was always my dream bike!
Living a dream!!! ;P

Hi all. Word on the street is that this is the place to be if you own a Tuono. Well guess what - I now own a Tuono!!!! :cheers

Picked her up today and she really is in sweet condition, - 2003, red, full Akrapovic, 7500 miles.

Rides extremely well though did develop some spluttering as the ride home progressed. I'm hoping this will be a simple spark plug change and if the simple stuff doesn't cure it I'm sure I'll be back here, trawling through past posts etc (lets hope its just the plugs!)

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and will try and post some pics once I have some to post! :)

Previous bike list:
Honda Vision 50, Honda MT50, Yamaha TZR125, Yamaha FZR250, Honda CB125(was at uni), Kawasaki GPX750, HondaRVF400, Kawasaki ZX7R, Kawasaki KLR650, Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (12 months in india :thumbup), Honda CB500, APRILIA TUONO!!!

Wow 3 replies in 3 hours! Obviously quite an active forum! Thanks for the greets! Chuffed to bits with the bike, can't wait to it running right. Ordered 2 new plugs, then found that these rotax lumps take 4, lol. :)

you,ll always get a reply on here pal, you may not get what you asked for...

re plugs... i did exactly the same thing when i got my 1st T..

Seems there is a few down this way. Might need to sort out a meet up soon !

Sounds like a plan! Before they start salting the roads to! Going to try and restrain myself and only use the CB500 in the winter.
...Thats the plan anyway! Any ideas as to when and where? I'll try and come along!

Btw, anyone know where I can get a good workshop manual in PDF format? Tried a few links, but they all seem to be down.

-Found an Aprillia manual for the tuono factory. Is there a Haynes one floating about? Would much prefer ;)

Have a good look through the forum posts I'm sure there's a copy somewhere. Also try looking/joining Tuonoworld. I've definately seen one there.

BTW welcome to the World of Tuono. Great bikes I'm sure you've heard by now of the Tuono Grin.

Hi you all! Dudley here from Minnesota. I'm real close to purchasing a Tuono and am between an '04 R. '07 R with 2400 miles and full warranty, new '08 R and a new '09 Factory. I've made the decision to sell 2 bikes and pick up a Tuono for sport and for long haul I ride my '89 Honda Transalp. In the last two years I've sold 3 Bultacos, a '71 Commando, '66 Atlas and a '75 Trident. On the block now is my '96 Triumph Trophy 900 and '05 Honda XR650L.
I ride a lot, am a motorcycle instructor and ride on the demo crew for Victory, Suzuki, Kymco scooters and past BMW.

I hope to have a Touno soon so I can enjoy it before the snow flys.

Welcome d, and whit t6 said. :thumbup

Hi everyone. Just traded my SV650 for an 07 Tuono 1000 R and I am nothing but giddy. I love V-twins and I absolutely loved my SV. But, as most of you probably know, the SV comes stock with some lacking components. I rode the SV for a couple of years and put around 15k miles on it. She treated me well but it was time to move on...and of course it had to be another twin. Picked up my 07 Tuono a few days ago and I am beside myself.
