the ecu's are the same they just need reprograming when you get them !
dont loose the faith in it trust me
we had more trouble with kawasakis than the aprilias

Methinks that Chas should take a look at the bike. He'd prolly get it fixed faster than where it is now.

I think i could fix it quicker than the muppets who have it now.

In what way do they need reprogramming, Charley?

I am sending a letter off to the head of Aprilia UK today.

No help or comfort to you but I know how your feeling right now and it makes you want to weep. Just hang in their and remember it isn't the bikes fault and just why you bought it in the first place. I had 7 months of grief with Evans Halshaw and Nissan this year and ended up getting satisfaction.
What I would do though and I don't know if you have finance on the bike but I would deffinately be seeking compensation off them for the repayments while its been off road.

A letter has gone off to the head of Aprilia UK today.

I''m still in two minds as to what to do with the bike. When it was working it was brilliant, the best roadbike i have ever owned but it's been off the road for nearly a quarter of the year now and i have little confidence in the dealers fixing it, i just wish i could give it Griff to sort as i know h would do it properley and quickly.

Were it not for Griff being there to look after the bike when i get it back, i would have already put a deposit down on the new Speed Triple.

Duke63, well sounds like your having a bloody bad old time! but i have a 1050 speed triple, its a bloody great bike......but really not a patch on a tuono i reckon, now i havent picked up my tuono yet but just the test ride for an hour let me know the score on both bikes, maybe just hang on and see what happends as when you get it back you will be all wheeeey again, that said im keeping my speedy and getting rid of my ktm for tuono, ktm way better than speedy but its done 48000 miles with me so no buggers gunna buy it lol, spose i think you may regret a hastey decision.

the ecu's come with no tune in and need the relevant tune downloading with the axone or navigator diagnostic tools
dont loose faith in it i did one the other month with a crank gone
and after 10 years of working on them that was the only one
just a little blip in a very good motors history thanks to rotax messing with the tolerances

But that little blip has cost me a quarter of the year without the bike which i am paying for. I badly want the bike back, working as it should and my faith and confidence in the bike and brand restored.

I await a reply to my letter to Aprilia which will decide the fate of the bike for me one way or another.

play on it but dont be arsey with them we always find is the best way
and remember they have a lot of accesories and clothing in that catalogue
as a way of compensation (no manufacturer likes takin a vehicle back)
and please dont quote me on that to them

Listen to the wisdom of Chas. And once you start riding the T again, you may change your mind about getting the Triple.

It's not the fun of the bike i have doubts about but the ability of the dealer and company to keep it working and on the road. I can't see the point in owning a bike i can't use for months on end if it goes wrong.

I'm just astonished they have any customers left if they treat them all like they have dealt with me and my rpblems with their product.

It took a while when I was getting the stator warranteed. But then again, I'm a couple kilometres further away from Scorse than you lot are. 'Tis the problem with riding something that not every Tom, ****, and ********* rides. I for one love the fact that it's not like riding your Gixxer into the local hangout and seeing the same ******* bike x 10. Exclusivity has it's disadvantages as well.... dammit.

Well if they don't extend the warranty for a year as i requested the bike will be sold as i wont have any faith in it and don't want it costing me anymore money.

Well my letter to Aprilia seems to have stirred something up. I should know more by the end of the week.

Remember... polite and smiling is scary as fook. Ranting and blustering makes them shut off. What seems to be going on now? Best o' luck to you mate. Glad to hear that there may be some movement.

I've not ranted and raved so far and there is no point starting now. I just want the bike back working and for it to be resolved to my satisfaction, TBH.

THAT'S the attitude that will get your bike back soonest, AND with a couple of free services or some free gear. Remember to ask for recompense. The worst they can say is no. Gently point out the length of time that they have had the bike and how much of the season you were forced to miss... Here's hopin' you get some goodies.
