CHEAP SIDE STAND MOD :eatcorn

Me bike leans over too far & I can't be arsed to muck around with different stands so decided to extend my existing one :dunno

RSVR031.jpg

I can only extend it by 12mm otherwise it won't fit in the fairing cut out :roll but every little helps. Cut the foot off & bashed each piece into a short section of thick wall tube.

All welded up, ground down smooth & painted :biggrin jobs a goodun

Mr La De Da with Bolly, i use a old jam jar :nana

:lol yeah tried that & the jar kept falling over as the pipe turned when I undid the bleed nipple so had a rake through the recycle bin & this was the heaviest bottle I could find :dunno

It's snowing outside so I thought I'd do the brown connector mod as I'm bored :roll As the other threads said, I started the bike & warmed it up to check the voltage
Tickover 13.6V
4K revs 12.8V

After 5 mins I checked the brown connector & it was warm approx the same temprature as the reg/rec so I pulled each of the connectors from the plug one at a time & soldered them. Now the brown plug stays stone cold :thumbup

Went about doing the white plug slightly different from others, I have a Motobat battery which has 4 terminals so I thought I would use the spare 2. I made a small loom to improve the output from the reg/rec to the battery.

RSVR037.jpg

The loom consists of 2 green wires linked together on an eyelet to the battery & the other ends go onto the 2 green wires on the white plug.
The heavy duty red wire goes from the battery to a 30A fuse then to the white plug where I have split the cable into 2 to connect to the red/white wires.

Checked the voltage again & I now get
Tickover 14.4V
4K revs 14.2V

Looking very professional.. that battery looks interesting? Why 4 terminals? Is that the one we should upgrade to?

Those batteries look tasty... must not buy one. Need to wait a couple of months ive had a right telling off for my toys lately..

I can vouch for the Motobatt batteries. My SuperMoto was a factory 710cc single and would eat a weak battery in one turn. I got fed up with messing around so I got a Motobatt. It was fitted in May and was laid up from the end of August. Went through the whole of winter without an optimate and fired up in June first turn. The guy I brought the Ape off fitted a new Bosch Batt the day I picked it up but if it ever lets me down I will be fitting a motobatt straight away.
