What did yer do with yer machine today.........Part 2

They look good those mr B, what's brought this project on ? Have you run out of things to clean on it :yes

What is the plan with your MIVVS, :dunno
found the cans at a very cheap price and thought it would give me something to do when the weathers ***** :yes
i do like the MIVVS but i want something different as for what i will do with them will be dependent on the finished project :yes

mr B, Must admit that I did like the look and sound of those MIVIs.

you have set yourself a hard challenge to beat them unless you put some like mine on. :lol

I think you should take the MIVVS off, give them to GF to polish, wrap them up well, and send them South to PC in Yorkshire....at a very reasonable price.:thumbup

Mr cat, GF has never polished anything in his life.

Maybe his butler can do it for him

Hey, what you trying to do, ruin my reputation. I'll have you know I spent hours on the T before I p/x'd it.
And my helmet is always gleaming. :lol

To be fair OT , there will be that much " product " on Brooksy' s MIVVS, by the time GF has polished them to the same standard as he does his helmet they would be dirtier than when he started. :yes

Been getting it dirty.

My mate (braver than me) washed his the easy way. I used a bridge.

Someone turned up on this quad.
We were all impressed with where he went & the speed over the rough ground.

Forgot to say, that quad had a V-twin 1000cc rotax engine in and permanent 4WD.
Notice the winch on the front.

Looks like a good day OT . Where did you go ?
Fancying a DRZ myself for playing and commuting.

PC, on this occasion I went north, meeting up at Consett, then heading for Hexam, Hayden Bridge, Alston, Ireshopeburn, Wolsingham, Durham, getting in as much off road as possible along the way. Probably about 120 miles. Always get home totally knackered, but great fun. I wish I had done this years ago.

Lots of trails in North Yorks, I sometimes head that way.

Not sure if I would like to commute on it too far, although it has to be taxed & tested for the in-between bits of trails, its a little bit too "off-road". Knoblies, no mirrors, low gearing etc.

OT you put some of us to shame.... well me anyway !

Good effort & hats off to ya mate for taking on the river... looks quite deep...

:)

OT, there are loads of green lanes over this way, I do them occasionally in my Defender.
I haven't got much of a commute, and I'm not really wanting to use T when the salt goes down, so was thinking DRZ for winter hack / greenlaner .they quite often come up with super moto wheels and nobblies.
Can you suggest a better alternative ? I could take Felix out off road for the day as therapy for his poorly paw. :yes

The DRZ is good for me because the engine is based on a road bike. This means long service intervals. Parts are easy to get & cheap.
A lot of enduro bikes require much more regular oil changes and engine re-builds because they only hold a small amount of oil.
The DRZ "S" version is more road based, metal fuel tank, proper sub frame, mirrors etc
The "E" version is more off road based, lighter, different carb, more power, no indicators etc.

The Honda CRF range is popular. Yamaha WR range is good, they changed to a ally frame from 2007ish, making the steel ones a bit more affordable.

Mr A may be able to comment on the virtues of KTM`s.

Whats your thoughts Felix ?

Drz's a good bike.... if ya intend to use it a bit on the road then maybe go for the "S"....
Ive been watchin a few Wr250f'S.... As OT says pre ally frame ones have dropped a fair bit in price... but im gonna wait till im happy riding off road again before i look to change. Read a lot of horror stories on the crf250 but the 450 seems solid but way too big for me.ktms hold there value well too.
If you dont "need" a full on enduro beast then there are a few trailly options that can do a lot of the green lane stuff too... but can be a bit more fragile "when" you fall off..... decisions decisions....

:)

Cheers PC...... look forward to that.....

When im fit OT will be takin aldo & me on a guided tour of NY..... More the merrier.... or is that just more people to pick me up when i fall off.... i do have "previous".....

:)
