Bay, I wouldn't mind betting that the ride back today was better than the ride over, are you pleased with the
Griffs work, mine was a completely different bike when he sorted mine out.
Can't praise the man enough.

Ash, Griff serviced my and Bay's bikes today in me garage, and also fitted AP rearsets to mine. Only rode mine round the block a few times but the bike felt a lot sharper, the gear selection was a lot better with the rearsets, and I now have a back brake - hurrah!! He also set up my suspension (which was way out, Bay's less so) so looking forward to seeing how it handles on the Welsh twisties at the weekend. :thumbup

Really sound bloke, does a proper thorough job, and I'll be getting all my servicing done by him in future.

We should have quite a good crew now, not quite sure on who to expect on the day, ****** I know of not quite sure what Nob's up too. May have a couple of my Non T locals & some from the area in general. Could be as may as a dozen.

Sounds good tricky, looking forward to it. Here's hoping for decent weather and that Stix doesn't lead us innocents (me, Bay, Windy) astray on Saturday night with his raging alcoholic tendencies....:biggrin

Innocents - pah!

I'm in a much better mood now due to my timetable changing for the better. However, I will try v hard to remain sensible :thumbup

I don't have much willpower so don't bother. I won't go to bed until everybody else does normally!

Hi ash. Griff certainly knows what he's doing. My fuelling was out even though it seemed to be running fine. The rear cylinder was running way rich. When griff sorted it the bike started popping and ran a little lumpier than it did beforehand but he says to put the baffle in to create more back pressure and should sort it. Even having just started it with the baffle in just seems to start lot easier now so I have no doubt he's right in what he says. Engine is all sorted but have cheap aftermarket can. Wanted sprockets changed but as I'm not mechanical at all didn't realise my chain needed doing as well so that was an extra 140 I had put by for the weekend which had to go on the chain. But flaming eck the acceleration is bloody awesome now.

All in all though Griffs a top man. Very good to meet up with him and very knowledgeable on aprilias. Both him and his collegue louey (Justin timberlake lookalike) took good care of the bike and were very careful. I'm very pleased with the service I got and advice i was given.

Thumbs up for a top service. Good to meet you griff.

What worries me is I'm the same.....

Right, plan is: 7- 8 pints tops, in bed by midnight.

You heard it here first!

Midnight! Don't go to bed midnight when I'm working next day. 1 is sensible tho & I agree going to stick to pints not pints then 3 hrs of red wine!!

Bay welcome to my world of acceleration! Now you can see why I never ever use full throttle ;)

Moved handlebars forward, same sprockets. If you asked I would have swapped bikes ;)

Yes 6th is crazy acceleration. Next time on mway (as I'm sure you've found out) give it full beans about 85 & it's nuts as you v rapidly surge past 110.

Griff just said that top brands have been tested to produce bhp gains and help bike run better. Cheaper cans are just made by exhaust manufacturers without any real testing. Still sound better though. Only because when my engine was set up correctly it wasn't running as smoothe and started popping a bit. Griff said it was prob due to exhaust and not enough back pressure. By putting baffle back in creates more back pressure. It certainly starts a lot easier now with baffle in. However sounds like a triumph due to baffle making a whistleing noise. No real change in sound though. Still loud

Fair enough. Been watching weather seems to change all the time. Looks like at some point we may have some rain.

Emptied my rucksack and found my mains iPhone charger I blamed the kids on pinching. Oops.

Still thinking textile jacket tho. You wouldn't believe the amount of micro-climates when we rode through n Wales last time. Lots of mist/fog/drizzle/rain.

Needs 6000mile service so trip to Griff iminent although I am now 100% totally skint. Has come with OE cans but probably on wrong maps struggled to get over 125 on the way back home & did try a little though not too hard as I could tell it was getting a bit lumpy, Tank has been taken off for respray & refitted without filler cap neck seal so pissing petrol over groin when I filled her up. Other than that reasonably tidy. Have removed tail unit which fits T a treat so she's now looking real good with the carbon bits that came this week & seat cover that just needs stapling down into position.

Intend using for rest of the summer & Autumn will then strip outb the Ohlins shockers & get them fitted to the T & then break the Mille up for spares.

She does (Jesse that is.) look very vertical inthat photo.

What time are you intending leaving tomorrow. May meet you in Crossgates if yr coming through around 4.00 ish

We will be there well b4 that. We are meeting @ bays 12:30-1, having a cuppa and going.

So depending how long the cuppa is we could be @ crossgates 2:30 easy.

That suits me I'll get there for 2.30 then. mIGHT EVEN BRING YOU home the long way around.

Have any of you ever done Llangurig - Aberystwyth A fantastic road if you've never done it before & not on our agenda for the rest of the weekend. We could come home that way. You would have seen all of what Mid Wales has got to offer by the end of the weekend IMO. (For Stix that is who came the other week.) (Not a great fan of Horseshoe Pass unless you like stopping off fo coffee with about 200 other bikers)
