mate 48mph two up in a fooking monsoon ask little1 what i looked like !felt like 300

Should have worn better waterproofs...:nana...but you got to admit it came across as 'I did it...so why no bugger else'...and it really wasn't such a big deal...

Hmmmmm ....... :dunno

Errrrr ...... IMHO was a poor turn out ..... but ...... Enjoyed myself thoroughly. I travelled 168 miles ( north to south ) in the pissin rain all the way and on the ***** A1. To make it worse i could hear SPYDZ snoring behind me, or was it his Mille .... ? lol :biggrin

I WILL be doing the same next year cos every person i spoke to was :thumbup

can see the point of the post but why not put things on a more positive slant i.e why not ask the powers that rein(and have the big buttons):devious to make some sub sections i.e...
  • national rides and events
  • scotland
  • north east
  • north west
  • midlands
  • wales
  • south

create some mods for each area ..have a monthy meet ...local ride outs...a event or two(xmas-bbq-area raffles) maybe this will create a more geograpicaly happy forum and at the end of the year have a national meet organised by the local mods talking between them selves with other areas
may work may not but the more ppl get involved in the tech side of a forum and organise just maybe bring a better atmos and comaradery

just a thought :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

There was more than 10 wasn't there :dunno maybe not camping out but there was at least one who popped down for the day, if only for a hour or so for a cuppa to say hello :biggrin. (200 mile for a cuppa ffs :roll)

Agree that a few more could have done the same as there is alot who live within that area. Agree with lots of comments why people couldn't make it too i.e money/working, some maybe just shy :dunno I'm shy myself and dont say much, but I will travel to meet other forum members to say hi if i have the time, it's what keeps a forum alive if members meet up. I just did 170 miles this afternoon to meet Superted at Cadwell, just to give a bit of support for his first trackday, first time i met him and was a bit nervous as to how it would go you know, but thats the shyness in me, I'm sure he felt the same way but hey, lifes about getting out there and meeting up, we all love bikes so thats at least one thing we have in common and for all those who want to stay behind their pc's ffs log off and get yours arses out sometime you might find you'll have a good time, the guys i've met through this forum have all been great :thumbup apart from the Southerners they just talk funny :nana

well said mate, i have been a member for a few months now and have met a few members from my area incl Sprocker and everyone i have met has been sound and i would gladly meet up again, I have been PM ing CK and big un for a few weeks to organise a ride out up here dates yet to be confirmed. Everyone has commitments outside of the zone but 10 out of 1000 is poor unfortunately i was one of the 990 and am devastated i couldnt be there because we are here to meet like minded people. in response RS3 yes i think aprilia day should continue and i would like to be involved in the organising of next years, pm me if you think i can help, nice thread. :thumbup
and southerners do talk funny is a fact

Well I gotta admit 10 people out of 1000 is a pretty poor showing, I not gonna make any lame excuses for myself, if I was able to come I would've, but coming off the bike put paid to that! (Bloody car driver!)
If I had've been one of the guys organising the event I would've felt really disheartened about the numbers.
To me this is a great forum full of likeminded people, but when it comes to meetups and rideouts etc. it always seems to be the same people who organise and attend such events.
Like at the moment badboy is arranging another trip to France and there isn't many takers, which I'm really surprised about, it's a great laugh, you should get on your bikes and go.
I had the honour of going on the last France trip and I can vouch for the fact that they are great guys, someone before me mentioned about going at warp speed when riding, well I can say for a fact, that on the France trip I rode like I donkey and was probably the slowest there, but I didnt get left behind, the guys always made sure the group was together.

Oh yeah and down south we don't speak funny, we just pronounce our words properly! LOL!! :thumbup

I agree with you RD, but i remember earlier on this thread someone mentioning 1000 members but how many hardcore? If its 50 and they are dotted all over the place then meets are going to be few and far between. I said before i am more than willing to give my time to the zone purely because everday it makes me laugh.
nowt wrong wiv our lingo

To be fair Rockdoctor thats a whole different kettle of fish costs wise, family hols cost a lot of money and not many people have the extra cash to afford that sort of rideout especially in the holiday season :dunno if I could afford to I'd love to ride to France with you guys :thumbup

i know i'm new but think this is a great forum so i'm gonna have my little say on the matter, in the last six years i have gone to most bike races and meets in my area with a gang of good mates, when ever bsb was on we would meet up at the local bp garage and head off to the races usually about ten of us. alas this year no one has bothered this is due to crap weather but mainly the fact that people are struggling with paying everyday bills with the rocketing cost of living.hopefully afew of the gang are up for oulton park on sunday weather permiting yipeeeeeee. i really think people are just cheesed off with life in this country i know i am and although i love riding my bike trying to make ends meet comes first the bike is just an expensive hobby!!!!!!!

I know exactly where you are coming from regarding cash. I'm self employed and due to my incident with a car a little while ago I'm not working, hence no money coming in :( It's getting to the point where I might have to go to work before I really should, depends how long my savings can hold out for

thats where im at now rock.
only had 8wk off after having 2 discs removed due to spiralling costs and only getting £300 a month.im now working in pain and probably doing myself more damage by not letting things heal properly due to shitbag gordon brown.

im going next year tho...and im bringing my granny.

What is the average price a litre for fuel over there mate? At the moment in my are i'm paying AU $ 1.82 lt. for high octane unleaded. So thats wot.. .885 of one of your pounds.

Crikey, you r doin' it tough...bet your gov't gotta huge excise grab on yer fuel also...ours gets a fair ol whack. :rant

Diesel is dearer here than octanes also...never used to be that way...its got me buggered as there is far less refining to produce the stuff :dunno

This is nearly 12 months old now, I must dig up a new one. The UK is paying about the same for crude as the US, but the Tax :puke
