speed detector

That's strange as mine picked up every camera I passed on an 80 mile ride out the other week.

Did you upload the camera file to the unit?

Sounds like your Inforad memory unit is empty!!

I think you may be right. Now the problem I have is that Inforad Manager is not detecting the device in my laptop. I've turn the firewall off and internet connection is fine. I've uninstall and install again the software but still doesn't detect it. Any ideas anyone?

When you uninstall the Inforad Manager then do a shutdown and restart the PC. Make sure you are downloading and installing the latest Inforad Manager software.

If that fails then you'll need to read this page - Click Me - and if that fails to sort it out then you may have received a duff unit.

Thanks. Still doesn't work so I will contact Customer services tomorrow. I may be something to do with windows or any technicality I don't understand.

because it is a major road i would think it would have picked them up on my travels ive only had three cameras it hasn't picked up which one was a couple of weeks old and the others were well in the sticks and if they havn't been put on the database or reported then it may not have picked them up but i think they would be on the database because of the road it is and you may have done something wrong on the computer . this has saved me a couple of times already.

Thanks mate. I'll keep on with trial and error until I find the solution.

I have to change my tires and sort a small problem with the bike juddering btwn 3-4k rpm which is spoiling the ride. Also travelling a farily bit for work these days. Weather is crap bla bla bla, but sure I'll join some rideouts once everything is in order.

I finally managed to sort out the problem with inforad software and could download UK maps. What happened is that there was a conflict btwn Windows Vista and Inforad software and my laptop was not detecting the device. After calling cust services, they sent me a patch and I was able to make it work. Needless to say that, if anyone is experiencing similar problems with their Windows Vista, I can send the patches to sort out the problem. Just PM me your email address. :thumbup

there is (on mine anyway) a white connector on the right hand side near the rectifier which feeds the lighting loom. 2 yellows..2 blues..and 2 yellow/green striped wires. Yellow is positive for lights, blue are earth. Yellow/green are for brake light feed. All i did was to bare some insulation on one of the yellow and blue wires without cutting the wire (be careful while your doing this) and soldered the inforad wires to them ( inforad black/red stripe to the yellow wire, inforad black to the blue wire) insulate these joints with tape and job done :thumbup clear as mud eh :biggrin

PS... unplug the white connector before you start ...

Followed sprocks instructions and went like a dream, even my soldering is improving, yet to try as i havent refitted my battery yet.
thanks Sprocks:thumbup :biggrin

Without taking it out its little folder it looks like there are a million wires, take it out just the 2 to wire up and then place the GPS and the light Piece of Piddle. GPS unit wire is only just long enough though

Guys

I got me one of these units off Ebay and it came today. My question is about positioning of the antenna. I would like to stick it somewhere near the speedo but I have a dark tinted screen and I'm concerned that it might not get a very strong signal. Have any of you guys had problems picking up the GPS signals? :dunno

Does anyone have the link to the lifetime subscription too?

Thanks

Colin

Your screen wont stop the GPS antenna getting a fix.

Mines located just above the clocks on the upper dash cover and it gets a satellite fix in seconds.

Mines in the same position and i've got a dark tint screen, no probs at all with signals :thumbup

Colinpp send me your email and i'll forward the link i got from rs3mille :thumbup

Thanks Sprocker, Amb has already sent me the link (though I couldn't get the software to run and windows couldn't recognise the inforad unit either so had to stick with version 3.2 which does work). Hoping to fit the unit in the next couple of days. It's a bit late cos I got clocked at 37mph in Bristol a fortnight ago - my first ticket in 33 yrs of driving/riding - paying £60 to be lectured for 3 hours instead of points!

Colin,

Have you tried the patches I sent you? If still doesn't work try this. Unistall inforad software. Then do a search for inforad(enable hidden files) and delete hidden files. Restart your pc, install the software amb67 sent you and the patch I sent you. Plug the device only when the software tells you. It took me a couple of goes but mine works perfectly now. Good luck

So I went to all the trouble of seating the sensor on my tail unit so my tinted screen didn't get in the way...aaah well!....Good bit of kit though..the red flashing LED certainly gets my attention!

Thanks for your advice Sergi. I have done everything you have advised but the Inforad Manager version 3.4 says it can't find a file and won't open and windows says it can't find any drivers for the unit when you plug it in. I'll stick with version 3.2 which does work okay and see how I get on. If I have to pay for updates in 12 months so be it...still cheaper than a ticket!
