I picked up an Ohlins damper on eBay today for £175.00
And a shock for £350.00
Chuffed!

Ohlins steering damper
Ohlins rear shock

£205 for both, both in excellent condition, from two different people.

Sounds like a steal.
These items are described as brand new so I was happy but you have the bargain!
Does the shock make a noticeable difference? I have my standard kit
Set up really nicely and I am loath to change.
I have had Ohlins on loads of bikes, usually without riding on the standard kit
And then rode a standard Zx10 04 and could not justify the exta lolly.
Back into my old bad habits now though.

The ride is a lot more supple now, I found it to be too harsh for me in standard trim, mine is a gen 1 by the way and the standard shock is better than the standard kit on a gen2, the steering damper was doing absolutely nothing and rather than have it rebuilt (if you can) I managed to pick up the ohlins one.

The shock came along at the right money (albeit at the wrong time) so I could not let it pass. I've just got to adjust the ride height slightly, as it's a little to high at the moment.

..... Back in the forum again, its 7 degrees here at night now, but skipping out for a blast later.
I put on the Ohloins (Typo!) shock earlier in the 'summer' and it has turned out to be really good. Shows up the fromt a bit now, has anyone had a revalve (K - Tech etc) or put any internal kit in? I would appreciate some feedback if you have.
Could be the nicest day of the week so off for that blast shortly.

Just put a set of Yaccugar springs in my front end & a rear shocker spring as well. Sourced from FTR suspension in Suffolk. They are a Ohlins stockist etc who I approached after an article in MCN abput 12 Months ago but never had the cash handy to go ahead with however I needed a replacement fork seal so decided to go ahead this yerar. I spoke with them and they reccomended the Yaccugar springs for Tuono's. The company are the Dutch remnants from *********** who relocated to Austria. Front springs were about £90

Havent got the back end set up right yet but the front end is remarkably differant. you barely notice going over speed ramps the springs are so progressive. Just need to get my rear end sag sorted when I can give a full assesment but the front is so differant it's unbelievable.

Hi Mickey,
So you have progressive springs in the bike now, correct?
There are arguments for an against, mainly damping related and mainly
Initiated from a racing platform. The contention is that it's difficult
To get the damping right with the continuous variation in the progressive nature
Spring.... It's worth a good read if you can get this book, the Racing Motorcycle,
I think the authors name is John Bradley. If you like a bit of physics it's right up
Your street.
I put hyperpro progressive springs on a Blackbird and loved em.
