"rsv tuono"?

O. K. HECTOR. AS I SAID ITS EASY TO MAKE THAT ASSUMPTION WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE RINGS. Dont take offence as i do tend to live up to my forum name and do tend to excell in sarcastic post. I think im funny thats why i was banned from the Rocket 111 OWNERS Forum twice. Catch ya later

grumpy it seems you're right, ABS is coming next year.
the salesman at Rockets was wrong to tell me it had ABS
Why would Aprilia launch a bike with all the toys and no ABS? Can they not get it to work with the traction etc?

Think youll find there fitting a modified version of the DIAVEL MULTISTRADA system and it just wernt ready in time so of course, being Italian they will fit it to the new factory model and charge an extra 1000 pound for it. Now the thing is as the rings are already fitted it should be poss to Retro fit. But hey **** i still think im right wait for the next updated model which as sure as eggs are eggs will follow before december bike shows, it will be a more all round controlable bike for us mere Mortals. The other thing is i know all Tuonos are not exactly pretty but the v twins done more for me than this v4 the front end feels much to low and i felt as if i was about to tip forward. I would fit much higher Renthal Bars. Hey but thats me////

grumpy, I'm with you on that. Wait for updated version with ABS.
I've got to say the riding position felt good for me , I like that slightly tip forward feel. It felt quicker on the steering.

I see emmo and I where misinformed :thumbdown easy mistake:yes

I agree the bars need to be raised a little for me :yes

Hector I had test ride on the one in the Rocket Centre. When the salesman was running through the controls and displays he said that light there is for the ABS to say it as been calibrated. Is he wrong? has it got ABS?
I was only allowed to follow Stuart from Rocket Centre on another bike on my test ride. Think it was insurance that the bike would come back rubber side down.
I will be going back for another test ride when I can take it out on my own and tyres have been scrubbed in.
You would have to be a good brave rider that buys one without all the toys ( APRC)
Yes the seat is like a plank!

the calibration is for the traction control etc
when you change your tyres for ones with a diffent type ie from dunlop to metzeler as an example , the roling diameters change between the front and back wheels so you have to programme it to recognise the new settings or the traction control/wheelie control dont work properly

Hi emmo just one more thing. If poss get in touch with the pratt salesman at the rocket centre and wise him up as some poor sod thinking hes got abs on a demo ride might try it out. It could happen. I think we have exusted this subject now. Right im off to cause some Shyte on the Ducatisti Forum. On the Diavel site. see ya. Grumpy

You know when you read a book .... and in your mind you create what you consider to be an appropriate accent, inflection or indeed ... age/ethnicity/culture/class/breed/ ...

Grumpy I have no idea who you are, how old you are or where you come from let alone your accent

But..

Just my own personal slant based on the huge amout of words, no pause for breath etc

I guess you are about 28 ...

You are a salesman

That you sound like a cross between Little Britain and a young Asian boxer

Am I close?

Sunshine?

oH!

By the ay this forum welcomes dry / cutting but well intentioned humour and we all have thick skin

Final comment

I would LOVE a v4 ... but only to sit next to my T2 so I could choose which to play with

Just seen the two tone black & silver one at Padgetts in Batley definately better colour scheme than plain black. seat looks awesome. I'm gonna get one next year for sure. No more mods & upgrades on my current one.

Ahhh but tricky the way I look at things is this. As grumpy has put in a previous post, at the moment we're all riding bikes that have devalued due to the new V4 coming out (actually I rather like to think I'm riding one rarer than a V4 at the moment as I've never seen one the same as mine at a bikers cafe or seen one on the road).

Anyway I'm sure that we'll never be able to find the limits of the current bikes we have. For instance look at Newellys earlier post about the Isle of Man tt course. He has a new found respect for the racers and the speed they go around the course at.

My point to posting though is. Is it really worth part exing bikes which we're entirely happy with to purchase a new bike which is more than double the money (with salesmen sucking air through their teeth and saying "ooooo people all want the new ones now I'll offer you £4k for Gen 2 Factory). Will it really mean we'll double the enjoyment of the ride or is it just to have the newest trickiest bit of kit.

I've just finished reading the Bike comparison test with the Speed triple, Z1000, Ducati Streetfighter, then the comparison with the Gen 2 which left me feeling that I should be content with what I've got for know. Fettle away with bits & bobs. Get some Aprilia performance rearsets upgrade the suspension with some new springs & end up wioth a sorted bike that's got a bit of me in it. It also reminded me why I ditched the Gixxer thou & totally focussed sports bikes for something that's more practical, comfortable & a less focused machine that's not gonna lose you your license. So for now I'll just gloat over the RSV4 & be happy spending time with what I've got.

Just got the Carbon Huggers on & they look great.

You've seen sense. I congratulate you :thumbup

Just rushed out to give blood, as I was running late for my appointment took the T as keys were in the ignition & ready to roll.

On way back pulled an unsolicited power wheelie in fourth gear at 94MPH. FFS what else does a man want in life. :fingerlol

P.s just about to order Hyper pro fron & rear spring kit.

..... Fortunately, I bought my V4 without having the V2 and I simply love it. I can understand the fuss about V4 Vs V2 though believe me. However, the V4 looks to be a completely different bike from the V2 and you may as well buy a speed triple as change from the V2 to the V4 ... if you follow my logic. It all seems to hinge on whether one actually WANTS a new bike or not. I had the original 04ZX10 and swore by them as I had 4 of the things in the end.... eventually moving on to.... well, new bikes! And now I have the V4, which I rate as more fun now than my original obsession. Perspective at the time counts for all. Or does it?? Peace Brothers.

Grumps, if you are living up to your name, It must be your real name. Who can guess what that could be? fD

Harley Davidsons, hhmm, the right bike for the right person...Some of the old skool low rider type shovels are sooo cool.fD

I'll be taking one for a test ride this summer for sure.

Will I buy one?

No ... because I have a wife, 2 x bloody kids to put through uni ... both of whom expect daddy (aka ****) to buy them cars and **** knows what else and both of whom presumably will want to marry and so burden me with vast expense to entertain fuckers I've never met / would hope never to see again

and a fat arsed ******* dachsund.
