i was out on bling bling on sunday and was doing a little more than the limit:devious on the way to devils bridge at kirkby lonsdale , i was going steady in the villages 30mph but had a mad moment on a straight for about half a mile . i noticed the police chopper above and wondered if the helicopter can do you for speeding ? there are no road markings (white squares)on the stretch where i was and i was not approached by the many police that where at devils .

will i get the dreaded letter do ya recon :dunno

They have to measure your speed between calibrated points (ie white squares)

If there weren't any i think it unlikely and usually they just clock the bikes for the plod on the ground to stop you down the road.

maybe the bling from my wheels blinded the camera anyway eh ;-)

thanks spoonz mate , i guess am just gonna have to wait for the post to come and go for the next 2 weeks ( i think its 2 weeks anyway?)

duke all good to go now ?

Some forces do use them. There was a helicopter patrol in Essex last summer. There was a big fuss about it as it costs so much to keep a helicopter in the air and there was some discussion as to how they dare to justify the expense.

They've got a system and camera that can read your number plate from 700 feet. I think it depends on what area you're in and whether or not they've decided to use it for that purpose.

Fecking joke if you ask me. With so many Air Ambulances having to seek out private or charitable funding to stay in the air, you'd think the police could think of cheaper ways to tax drivers for being ten miles an hour over the speed limit and better things to do with a bloody expensive helicopter.

Yep 14 days for a NIP if you weren't cautioned at the time of the "alleged" offence.

Duke good. Out Thursday for 100 miles or so and then myself and Sabre went to Cornwall on Sat to see Garin who broke his wrist Snowboarding.

Was talking to the crew of our local plod chopper last year about this subject as there was a rumour about all sorts of wonderful technology at their disposal.

They were saying that unless someone was really being antisocial they would just radio ahead and get them stopped on the ground.

Although they are also somewhat notorious ( North Wales, Brunstrom territory) for actually videoing people then shooting off up the road , landing in a field ,and ambushing the rider when they don't expect it.

I would guess you're safe , just do as we tend to,look UP & round every so often.:dunno

Ruins the fun somewhat, having to look up as well as behind every hedge & wall but Brunstrom sends them out with instructions to hide where ever possible.

Not taken any yet.

Ducati say to leave the baffles in during the run in period. (richer mixture) but it's done enough that the process is over now anyway so will take them out next ride.

Garin is not Mr Humphries Stu he's Plastered in the Frankie Howard position.
"oohhh i say missus"

Bet it took you all morning to type that reply Garin with 1 hand, 1 finger.

Good luck at the clinic. Maybe see if they can sort the Herpes at the same time :devious

if they mention Physio be afraid, be very afraid. :puke

I cant understand what all the fuss is about. The motoring laws are there to protect the public from nuisance riders such as u r self. If there was NO law and order enforcement, the country would be in a sorrowfull state. Next time u bend over in the showerS to pick up a bar of soap dont come running to the plod saying it was him there that did it,,,,,,,,,,,INNITT,,,,,,,,,,, WUSS
