People and cleaning bikes, am i expecting too much ?

Just don't get me started on those fu***ng white wheels... so many little nooks and dirty bits. :banghead

Big ups to whoever invented the toothbrush...:rolleyes

I just don't know how he expects his little doggie to clean his bike and do all those other things for him. I think he's dreaming....

To be perfectly honest chaps I'm a bit of a lazy ***** myself when it comes to cleaning the bike.
Gotta be in the mood if you, know what I mean. Don't do it every ride but when I do do it one likes to think one does a thorough job.
An I'll tell you what, them bloody gold wheels !!!!! Don't go their sister. Like a fookin tar magnet.

The wife brought mine back with some dirt on. So took it away and spent an hour cleaning it. Will finish it today with a bit of polish and then off to Donnington tomorrow :)

Will get it dirty again then LOL.

Mine are blue oz wheels and I have problems cleaning due to disc`s and sprocket, ok but a pain in the neck. Take the dirt off wich sponge/rag and at the same time re apply with hands. The old spoke wheels with drum brake were straight forward. I did wipe the oz wheels down with clean oil and they looked ok but attracted the dirt. Ideal for winter.

Removing the disks is simple and quick it also means you can get to the back of the disks.

While you're doing it you can also get to the back of the calipers and the underside of them :)

Or just whip the calipers off and do it that way too :)

Get the feckers powder coated black.

Any one out their coated the wheels on the latest Factory ?
Might be tempted, I reckon it would look pretty neat with the black on bike and maybe a bit of red on the wheels to.

Cover up that gorgeous blue with the same ol' black that every other IL4 pilot has?? Not on your ******* life. And I think that when I get my Factory that I'll get the wheels in blue. The only other colour that I have liked is the Nero red. I like red...

You are of course entitled to your opinion.
Having had the red wheels on my bike originally I think you might tire of cleaning them fairly quickly.
As for the "georgeous" blue, it varies and can fade.
Since I don't have any blue anywhere on my bike I went black, as did Liz on her balck 07.
The only Tuono I have seen where the wheel colour looks good is the Greek flag colour scheme from 07.

Everyones different. I like the gold but bugger me its murder to keep clean. They have a almost dimpled affect and I hope its not happening but I'm sure theyre beggining to dull.
I always intended to go a bit 'stealth' with my T. I see it ending up with high rise cans and possibly black wheels. Sounds a bit odd with a gold frame, but I have a vision.
Would love to see my bike with black wheels if anyones done it.

Paul, what did the colour change cost you and how long did it take?

I have had a frame done and have seen a set of wheels at tripple S in Bingley.
They have a price list and specialize in motor cycles. My frame was 103 inc vat

Beat me to the same answer.
It costs £40 per wheel for black at Triple S, £20 collection and £25 packaging & return. Top quality - check out their website.

Turn around is a week, but they didn't take cards when I got Liz's wheels done, I had to post a cheque off.

I have been thinking about returning my 05 to stock and trading in for the 09 Factory, I just can't live with the colour scheme on the earlier version.
Frame and wheels would most likely go black over winter.

Cheers boys. Great to see such a clearly priced nobist proof pricing too.:thumbup

I fell for my T cause the colours were a throw back to the earlier Rsv's.
Absolutely beautifull machines and colour schemes IMHO. I have thought about scrambling a bit of dough together for a winter project for one if any ones aware of out decent out their.
Better looking than the current ones of which I had for a year. To damn small for this porker.:bawling

Opinions are like ********. Everyone has one but you don't necessarily want to hear from it. Tastes change, opinions change. I might reconsider the black wheels on Andiamo. But not for now. I love my blue wheels. And I tend to ride them off when I am on the Tuono. I've been thinking lately of painting the lil gal. Not sure what colour I would paint her, or even if there would be a scheme to it. I like the matte black with the checkers on the tank right now. Wondering about gloss black with some highlights. Maybe blue to match my wheels... *grin*
Having different tastes and opinions is what makes all this fun. Different tastes in motorcycles caused us to look at a bike that not everyone ride. Our sweet lil Tuonos. Who says that we have to have the *exact* same taste in how our Tuonos look, and how we ride them. T'would be offally (yes the spelling was intended, lets see if nobbie gets it) boring if we all had the exact same taste in everything...

Offally nice of you to offer to bunk up with me. You'd be alright over in the Ireland. They too have an alternative attitude to drink. Black in one hand and gold in the other. Mmmmmm might have to christen it the Factory.

Ok, weeksy, ya bastid!!! I actually contemplated taking the rearsets off Andiamo as I spent over two hours cleaning her today (I thought you'd be proud!). Then I said. naaaah fuggit, and got my toothbrush in there and cleaned all up in behind. Spent 45 minutes getting the back wheel all purdy, then only 20 on the front as I was getting tired and pissed off. I smacked my hand and now I feel like something is pulled/sprained/strained/broken in the knuckles between second and third finger. Hurts like f#@k on the bike now. I hope yer proud of yerself weeksy... causing me this grief, pain, and anguish! If I wasn't reading this stoopid thread I wouldn't have had the bike up on lifts and trying to get to all the little remote crannies.

I gotta say though. I went for a slow ride just to show off the little princess, she looked so damn good! Those blue wheels give me a chubby when they are all clean... so.. a grudging thanks for getting me off the couch this afternoon, and out on the concrete with the wash-bucket. She really does look a treat now!

I want you all to know that I'm currently experiencing a round of ill health. Reading this thread is making me feel really healthy - mentally at least. because I think you're all deranged........
