People and cleaning bikes, am i expecting too much ?

Me and the bike got wet today . My jeans and sweatshirt got wet , my jacket leaks. I should have stayed home as it didn`t rain there

Don't that just give you the sh***.

Still, better a ride in the rain:thumbup than being home in the dry, I reckon.

Absolutely as you will need something to drink whilst I polish of your stock of single malt and dark beer. Dinna ferget that th' name is Wee Hamish... I'm getting a little short on my stocks right now, and so have only five bottles of single malt right now. The ubiquitous Dalwhinie, some Glenmorangie, my favourite after work: double cask Balvenie and a couple of offerings from Islay. Not that big a collection admittedly, the problem being, I keep drinking it all! Yer welcome to come to Canada and help me. If you come in the winter, I'll take you skiing at some world class places that will make Jindabyne look like a molehill. If you come in the summer, you can take the Tuono and I'll ride the '97 TLS. Just remember to slow down so that I can keep up.

Yer on boyo!!!

My wife and I, plus the two boys of course, are planning a trip to the US of A and Europe in 2011. We've always talked about going to Canadia as well. So stock up me lad. If we can stretch the budget for a Northern excursion, We'll be there!

Done and done. The worlds largest mall for the wife, includes a waterpark for the boys and there are enough bikes here for Chunky and Hamish to go for a ride. The Canadian Rockies are a MUST SEE. The mountains in the lower 48 just aren't as alpine and intimidating. You have a base here for Western Canada. Vancouver is pretty kool too and we have racing friends there too!

Sounds awesome.:thumbup The wife's getting excited.

How much time d'ya think we'll need to set aside to clean & shine your bikes once we're there?

I read this and thought, "FFS, get a life". Then I went in the garage , took off my footpegs and cleaned behind them! :banghead

Now do I have to sell it? :dunno

lol ! i love cleaning my T i always do it after every ride but removing the footrests etc ? guess im just lazy

On Wed the bike was gleaming as I had polished it on Teusday.. It did get wet/dirty when I took it for MOT. It passed no problem so now to some serious cleaning. I have just finished the Wetroom, bathroom, toilet and kitchen , "O"! and me. I should have done the bike first as I have clean togs on now.

I think weeksy must be laughing his socks off. I reckon he started this as a laugh and wow, has it been just that.

Nice one Weeksy :thumbup Mind you, if you're serious ........ :bawling

LOL i'll take some pics when i get home tonight if you like ;)

The wife is out on the T all day tomorrow though and i'm babysitting.

I will be sitting in the pub garden though with my mate as his missus is out with mine on the ZX7R and we're minding the kids.

She'll be paying for that time on the T i can tell you ;)

Would it be REALLY freaky to know i even cleaned the inside of the hugger i REMOVED when i fitted the new Carbon one ?

Or the fact when i took the headlight/fairing off and the clocks, everythign in/under there got cleaned as well ?

Weeksy, you are amazing & crazy. :crazy
You let your wife ride the T aswell - I'm stunned.:rolleyes

She's got a 600 SRAD but currently i'm waiting for a new set of calipers to arrive so it's without brakes. Also ideally needs new carbs too but works OKish for now.

She's done tonnes of riding from road to trackdays in Spain, riding and 7 days tours of France etc. Techincally i think she's probably ridden more miles in her life than me. I used to only ride 1000 miles a year, but they were all on track.

The sad thing about my cleaning obsession is that few people really appreciate it. you can put 5 clean bikes together and all will look clean. It's not until you get into the intricate details of clean that you can see how clean a REALLY clean bike is.
Even then, the fact mine is a 2003 Tuono that's had a tough life at times means i can never get it as clean as newer bikes.

Some of my bikes in the past have been a couple of years old and you would never think it had been ridden.

Sounds like your mrs will show me a clean exhaust pipe.
I know what you mean about clean bikes.
A pal of mine has a Fazer 1000, as I did a couple of yrs ago. He's the same as you for cleaning his bike, and when we went out together I'd always park my bike away from him, as mine looked manky next to his. He used to take this piss out of my bike, and some times I'd give mine a wash, but just couldn't, and still can't muster up the enthusiasm to clean it as well as you guys.
All joking aside, if you get pleasure from cleaning the bike, go for it.

I gets mah pleasure from caning that bike through corners and down the highway. Bug Spooge ROOLZ!! I may have to clean her a little for the track days I just signed up for on the 20th and the 26th... YAY!!!!
