New top speed

Working at the mo, if it carries on till bad weather (ah ah) will do it over winter, needs a service too, but also hanging on now..Lot of money to splash out when not being used.

Spoke too soon, packed in completely now..Found the test method on here, and getting the readings that point to the sensor..
So need to find one, silly question, but one on ebay for an RS125 which looks very similar, wonder if the part numbers are the same?

there is one one either rsvr.net or af1 racing saw it last night but cant remember which one!

Found it £55 plus vat..Just waiting for a guy to get back to me who says he has one £16 inc postage..Plus being a tight Northerner I'm wondering if the RS125 the same as half the price..End of the day its only a sensor..Will see what turns up, going to have to use it without for the moment..

not sure about about the rs 125 one but maybe ok because the sensor is the same on all models of rsv's tuono's and falco's so maybe they used the same one on all of their bikes???????

It would be interesting to compare as Aprilia quote half the price.

Bloody hell about two days after you posted this problem my speedo indication started jumping around :rantthought it was knackered and i only bought it earlier this year £30 e-bay....but on inspection i found that the cable had popped out of the cable tray under the right hand swingarm and was rubbing on the tyre :eatcornand had worn through the outer insulation. I taped it up and cable tied it to the brake hose so it wont come out again, took it out yesterday and all was fine :thumbupworth checking yours too see if it's done the same ....

mine tops out at this on 15/43 gearing, 15/42 should pull 170 plus:thumbup

Not surprised yours popped out, the noise probably made it jump out with fright..:biggrin..Yes..Saw you leave Squires wed..Bloody hooligan..

Took mine off yesterday after checking the volts as suggested.I'ts obviously all the heavy rain recently that's got to it..Going to coat new one in silicone seal when I fit it to stop it happening again..

Got my old sensor off, and no wonder they fail. I expected the cable to be moulded onto the sensor like plugs are on most new appliances these days, but they're not so water can easily get into them..So before my new (second hand) goes on its going to be coated in silicone sealent to prevent a reaccurence..
