A year in the life of a Tuono

Note to self: Must try harder!

Was told during my mx days, never snatch at anything, smoothly evertime untill yer get used to it then real quick but still smooth and don't snatch. Unfortunately it's stuck with me and me napper is dialed into keeping the front down.

Note to self: Must try harder!

know what you mean sparky but definately cracking the throttle right back, think i need to check that it actually IS on map 2 as the dealer said it was at the last service..

If it's running smooth I'd say it's on Map 2.

If you think it's running smooth, but at times it pops and bangs, and for example you can't hold it on a neutral throttle though a bend, then go to wind on the power at the exit of that bend and it won't catch then lurches forward like a bastard it wants looking at. Mine used to be like this (all standard apart from Akra slip on's) and what I had been told by the previous owner was Map 2. WRONG...! Map 1 it was...

I can't tell you how much difference it makes having the correct fuel map for the cans.

seems fine and pretty smooth, but sometimes when i whack the gas on i get an almighty cough/missfire.Think i need to find my nearest dealer with an axone machine just to get it checked !!

Great thread,......shame its got a bit hijacked.
Not much to tell about my bike and I only managed a pitifull 2.5k miles.I bought my T in April this year from Taz,....mods are pretty much the same as everyone elses.
Had to go into hospital in July after some health issues reared up again and have'nt been able to ride since. This will get rectified next year when I'm back up to some sort of full strength.

Good tae hear aboot bikes bein used a year roond A min..excellent. Ahm actually surprised how corrosion resistant ah the alloy oan the T is, have had much worse oan Jap bikes in less time. Only hae some spots o roost oan various bolts heids like lower fork clamps, brake discs and heel plates, apart frae that nae bad. Ah do aye gie it a hose doon after a run an always spray the rear shock an lower links wi plenty WD40 an its seems as mint as the day ah bocht it.

Wiz oot the day up roond Speyside whisky country Duffttown,View attachment 170 Craigallachie, Rothes elgin way an had the place tae ma sel. Snow oan the taps o the hills roond there tae so wiz freezin by the time wiz hame.

Great post !!! I have been riding mine for 3 months. I put 30,000 miles on my VFR in 3 years. I ride the same--commuting daily in LA and taking trips up the coasts, 2x riding to Sacramento/SF and Big Sur. My one complaint is the MPG too. Seems terrible but its a 1000cc beast. Still wish I had more. Keep us updated on mods. My complaints: Hard grips, not intuitive controls to change time/kmh/mph, etc, and mirrors are smallish and lights not too bright.

Will do, may even get some photies :D

Lights wise, always found the T's, well certainly mine to be nice and bright. Have had a few comments from a few fellow riders that they are nice and bright, popped in some osram night breaker bulbs and are now even lighter, but std H11 bulbs should be ok !!
