Hey guys and gals ... thought i'd say hi as ive just signed up. My name is Stephen (Smithy will do fine) and i'm 27 (feeling old now). Been lurking here for a few weeks whilst sorting my 2000 RSVR ready for the 3 sunny days we'll probably get this summer, so thought it best i sign up and get all my burning questions answered haha. I live in Blackburn, England (yeh crap i know) and ive owned quite a few bikes in my 6 years of having a full licence (748SP, Husaberg FS650, ZXR750, a few 400s) but the Aprilia is my favourite (gotta say that, right?). Anyway, hopefully i'll manage to get out for a few rides with you lot this year and maybe even give a hand to a few people on the forum with my wealth of knowledge lol. thanks for reading, ttfn

It has arrived

Delivered today at 1300, I had it insured by 1315 and was out in the rain by 1325!! -that's why it's covered in *****!!

Hello to the RSV world. Looking at picking up an '08 RSV 1000R. Thought I'd check this forum to see what issues these bikes may have and to gain some knowledge on what to look for on a resale (aside from the obvious). Currently I have an '01 RC51, sold my CBR929 track bike (was my first sport bike back in '02) and prior to that I learned on an '84 Honda Magna V45.

Hello everyone! I have owned a VTR1000 Superhawk and a RC51 but I just bought my first Aprilia and am over the moon. I took a RSV1000R for a demo ride on January 31st. It was a sunny 8 degrees in Victoria and what an amazing ride! I bought a black RSV with blue wheels still in the crate! What an incredible bike!! I am also a proud new Dad of a little baby girl born Jan 15th,2011. 2011 is starting out with a bang!

Hi everyone, i had a new RSVR in 02 which was written off after 4 months, then i got a cat D 02 RSV for trackdays.
Its been sat in my garage unused for 7 years after developing some electrical problems and im now in the process of converting it back to a road bike,
Does anyone know someone whos good with electrics in the berkshire area?

Don't think this is the right topic, but anyway.... Have a huge problem with the front tire. Damn thing's is wearing out in less than 3500 km. Eqaly fast as the rear. Had plenty bikes in the past and never such problems. Explanation anybody...i ran out.
Once again sorry for the missplaced message.

Your tyres may be too soft, or not inflated to the correct pressure, or your riding style may be a little aggressive (nothing wrong with that). Is the bulk of the wear on the centre or the sides?

They are the right pressure for Metzeler, something over 2 bars, depending of the weather and my mood:). Stile is bit agressive, but it was the same when i had yamaha and kawasaki. The bulk of the wear is on the sides, there is like no tyre on the sides, and the centre is 3/4 spent. I slipped once on track but i doubt thats the reason. even before that the situation was the same.

I'm following Ozz, only bought my Aprilia because he got one !! but mines a different colour : )
Nice to find this forum, registered on another channel and it's a bit quiet over there.........
Just bought an 04 RSVR Factory, sight unseen , but it looks mint..... genuine 6000 miles with lots of paperwork.
Already got it booked in with Griff to go over.
