My first post to this forum. Been lurking for quite awhile now. You guys (and gals) have got a great thing going here. Good info, good humor, good attitude, **** weather.

Must say weather here is limiting too. Although we had 20" of snow ten days ago, 3" of cold rain on Tuesday, yesterday was 45F and sunny. Couldn't resist firing the Mille up for a quick blast around the extended neighborhood. Put on my heated jacket and set out for a hundred mile jaunt up the coast and back around the inland way.

Don't know if this was the last ride of last season or the first ride of next season, but they are all fun. Strategy is, if you go for a ride every month maybe you don't have to winterize. Days are getting longer, maybe I can get out every couple of weeks now.

Sorry to hear about the crashes. Love to hear about the ride outs. Can't keep up with the mods.

Keep up the banter.

hello just registered to the forum ive been in to my bikes for a while now started with motocross bikes from a young age then at 16 mopeds and 17 i brought a gsxr600 srad and still have it to this day back in november i brought an rsv from a friend the bike had been crashed and my aim is to get it back up to standards and use it for track use and eventually get it back on the road once i loose my 33hp restriction in september. currently the bikes making good progress i have the new chassis and waiting for some headset bearings and wheel bearings to arrive so then i can get the bike back to one peice.

Hello all. Registered a few days ago, finding my way around a bit. Just thought I'd say hi. Hoping to get my mille running this year. Unfortuneately it's been living in my shed for 2 years! But with your help I'm sure it won't be as daunting a task as it first seems. Can anyone point me in the direction of a starter motor guru?

Evening all!

I've been snooping around for the last few days after putting a deposit on a '99 Mille. I'll be picking it up from Bristol on Tuesday afternoon and will be christening it with a 200 mile "test-ride" all the way back to Sheffield! Can't wait... :-D

I've been stuck with a 25 year old FJ1100 for the last year. (No sniggering at the back!!!) We had a lot of fun together, it out-ran many smaller and larger engined bikes, even on corners :) But I'm not sure it was designed to be thrown about so much. I came to that conclusion shortly after grinding the exhaust when a hump-back bridge and a sharp right hander jumped out of nowhere. Moreover, it's got "Back Street Heroes" stickers all over it and I'm just not prepared to grow the beard to match. It's gotta go!!!

The bike I had before that was a beautiful, roaring and incredibly angry (no steering damper!) '98 TLS and I've been dying to get back on a V-Twin ever since.

I'm off now cos this is starting to sound like a Personal Ad.

Cheers!
Mike.

NO way if I was married would I scare you lot wth pics of the mum in law!!!!
Worries me thinking I might have one in the future (again)

Agree with previous sentimen, IF liked V twins efore, then the RSV is just raw ***.
In fact SO in lve with Aprilia, the girlie has bought a peagso factory, and OH what a bummer, she still hasn't got her licence, so I have to ride that for her too

If I could work out how to I'd show you a pic of my long departed mille (rip)
only ad 749 miles on the clock when i wrote it off

Hi Mike,I had a similar experiance with my RSV,had to pop upto Newcastle to pick it up on a lovely summers day last june, what a trial by fire that was riding it back to Liverpool, loved every minute of it,enjoy my friend :doug

Hello again! Ta very much for the nice welcome! The ride back was hellish. Freezing rain and very slippy roads. I got home safely though and have only just had the chance to wash all the muck off it.

It's a lovely bike, very well looked after by the looks of things (although it's been in a spill at some point, but it's bang on now) I'd like to get rid of the standard exhaust soon though, any recommendations? I'll stick a few pics up when I see daylight.

Fingers crossed the roads dry for the weekend. I'm off to do the Lincolnshire TT :thumbup

Mike.

Welcome Mike,
