hi guys, just been out 4 a ride but when i started the bike up it made a really nasty clunking/slappy chain/rattly sort of noise..... hasnt done this before but once warmed up it seemed ok. any ideas what this could be or what causes this? your expertees would be much appreciated, dont want the thing to blow up or sieze on me!

its only happened the once and yeh it was only when i started it. noise is coming from the right hand side of the engine. i left the bike to stand running to warm up for a few mins and the noise faded away and couldnt hear anything riding along. if it is the sprag clutch how easy are they to source/fit?

Sprag is on the left (as you sit on it) - if you're half decent with the spanners they're not too difficult to fit. Main thing is getting the flywheel off - lots of heat and a puller. I've got a puller and a bolt you can use to lock the crankshaft which you can borrow if it comes to it.
You're listening for a graunching sound only as you start it.
You can use a cheaper BMW sprag - do a search on here - but if you do, DON'T fit the circlip - see my recent post on the subject.

He says that it is coming from the right hand side of the engine...............Is this just a case of a clutch basket wear??

start the bike up in neutral Regis and pull the clutch in does the noise get better ????

ill try it 2 moz, starting it up this l8 is sure to piss the neighbours right off! haha!

If the noise fade's away after few seconds and the bike has stood a while or has just had oil change imo it sounds like oil taking bit time to build up to pressure, I have heard mine do this a few times.
