My RSVR is useless

Know how you feel mate, my rsv has done about 400miles if that since I bought it in March cos there's always something wrong with it. To be fair to the bike I thin its cos the last owner took such bad care of it, it's corroded to hell. The engine itself is lovely but it's always electrics n that. I'm just tired of trying to sort problems as even the little ones are a pain as all the bolts are rusted in and rounded off. Been trying to get the horn working for the mot for 2 weeks now (obviously not working on it for 2 weeks, but ya get my drift). Getting it mot'd then floggin it. Will lose alot of money as I've put on a hooked airbox and brand new 2ct's but the ****** thing is driving me crazy with its probs. I love riding it, when its goin, but I dont get the chance! I've missed on so many rideouts this year with the guys its just not worth it.
I had an Aprilia AF1 as my first bike, same prob, was broken more than working. given up with Italian bikes, they may have character but they never bloody work, My gsxr k2 was a fantastic bike that never let me down over 6yrs once. Back to the Japs for me next year!

True that! when it works it works great! looks good too but to have such a awesome bike and not work takes the piss!!

1000RR for me please

Nice bike the new fireblade, but have you ridden one? They are very characterless to ride at normal road speeds, it's only on track that they come alive but each to their own

The simple answer to any RSV Mille bike purchase is don't buy one that's been kept outside uncovered. This is true for all bikes, not just RSV's, as you'll have a nightmare with electrics.

Just a note, Fireblades suffered the same problems with the stator failing too. There were quite a few unhappy Honda owners saying the same things as you guys

Had a test ride on the new Blade..Felt gutless low down and very small..Once spinning they're a rocket, but felt like every other Jap four which I'd got bored with.

But at least with a Blade, when you park up you can....:devious

im doing a bike sale next week have a steve brogan replica fireblade with his signature on the seat hump laquerd over yours for £7,600 brand new and unregisterd.:thumbup

you wont be dissapointed with the blade mate, will be smooth and wont let u down, not like this italian **** :eatcorn

hahaha vinny you do realise you are making some RSVR forumer's sick....

New varta battery seems to have solved the problem.............for now ;)

Sorry Vinny, they don't do it for me, had new blades in the past and they are soulless things, functional and do everything fairly well, but so does my WD840T Hotpoint washing machine:pirate

The WD840T compares well with the new Fireblade, it is streets ahead of the 830C though:pirate

LOL I chuckle reading this thread, Jap IL4's are great but Aprilia know how to make riding fun, exciting and scary all at the same time.

Exactly my sentiments Badger. :pirate

When I knew I was coming back to biking after a few years off, I was sat on a nearly-new Blade at a dealer, strongly thinking of buying it, but all at once it struck me as "why does this feel the same old thing ?", and it`s because it was just another Blade, which I`ve had in the past. Okay, great bikes, but which shade of grey do you like best ?

Anyway, as soon as I saw my RSVR, it immediately appealed, and once started-up, it was all over........:devious

same here dexter as soon as i saw my ape and heard it with the akras on i had to buy it, even though i sell blades i wouldnt own one but dont tell anyone :nana

but it bet it didn't start first time at the dealer ;)

mine started first time when i bought it, but it didnt start the second time. there is a new honda vfr 1200f coming out soon you might be better with one of these or a blade if you want a bike that wont let you down every other day:thumbup
