ha ha, I've been known to have bits drop off my bike so he's not alone

Lol it has changed but I did leave the fairing u piece on by mistake again!! Big DOH!

The worst was on by CBR64 on the way back fron a forum meet I discovered on the motorway that my solenoid nuts were loose! With led to a big back fire and almost a lock up!

Went out for an awesome ride yesrerday with my mate who has a TLR did loomies and the a32. Met a guy called Charles who has a Rsv 2007 plate in metallic black with a gold frame and we all went for a hoon which was awesome. Despite having the most expensive coffee ever! Cant wait for warmer weather.

I have decided in winter the fairing are most likely being treated to new decals and metalic black paint.

Sad face

Managed to pick up a bargain PC3 looking to have this set up at some point this year.. Griff will be getting a call soon.

This weekend I am aiming to remove the clutch jet and fit the new one.

I am having difficulty removing the clutch jet.. I have now tried cocktail sticks again and also disconnecting the fuel pump and turning the engine over. Had a fair bit of oil piss out but the jet doesn't move any further than it does with a cocktail stick.

Any suggestions?

Have thought about trying that but once its in its damaged.. hmmm

Clutch jet is staying in. It will not come out.

Goind to be removing the rear shock and linkages next week to clean and grease where required.

I was thinking I may take he opportunity to have the rear shock serviced and sprung to my weight. How much does this cost and where do I send it? I assume I cant do it myself due to the gas etc...

The again I may wait until winter to servoce rhe suspension as it does work well at the moment and I am hoping to loose weight this year

Think ill ride it as it is for now and have the suspension full serviced next winter :) If it did need doing urgently I would get it done but it does feel plush!

After speaking with Chaz and looking at the photos I could not ignore the fact that my linkage bearings may be fubared..

Well turns out it was very lucky I checked them!!

Take it those marks shouldn't be on it! Well definitely not just on one corner only!

Must get that melted plastic off!! arggghh

These can be pulled out very easily..

And these fell out when I put some new high temp bearing grease in..

So it lays in pieces..

Where do I pick up the parts I need? Ideally to arrive by Friday..

Doesn't look too bad to me. The dog bone will get scored as it settles to which ever side it favours most as there's no spacers to keep it centralised.
You just need to check that there's not too much free play between the pin and the needle bearings or scoring on the pins.
I stripped all the needles out, degreased them and the housings then regreased and fitted the needles back in. Bit fiddly admittidly but as long as you don't loose any its not too bad of a job.

Cheers for your advice, going to get a few more opinions on this as atm I am swaying towards replacing all of the bearings and seals..

Will strip all the needles out and leave them soaking tonight and have a fresh look at it tomorrow..

No worries. My bikes a few years older than yours and I did mine last year. I've just had it all apart to night as I was replacing the shock spring and its still sweet and nice and smooth.
If you like fiddling and don't mind spending the dosh by all means do em but as long as they're not excessively worn and the play is barely noticeable I'd clean em up and whap em back in.
You can get regular caged needle bearings to replace them but they don't have the same amount of needles as the oem aprilia ones as they were specially made for aprilia due to premature wear occurring on the regular caged variety.
The extra needles equates to more of a surface area in contact with the pin and thus greater wear in theory.

This is where I get all my bearings & seals, get a set of verniers so you can measure the internal & external dimensions & order online :thumbup This type come with an internal plug to stop the needles falling out whalst your assembling.

Drawn outer cup type

Looks like a good site

After removing the needles and cleaning everything looks like I need one new seal. The dogbone needles and housings are in v good condition. But the needles in the swingarm were rusty, close to where the linkage was rubbing on the dogbone..

Will have a measure up before work in the morning..

Change them bearings mike they have started to fail
The needle bearings are in cages and shouldn't fall out .
Replace and grease and fit for a few quid its not worth the chance is it .
And what's the roller like that fits in side it
?
