Just a quick update for ya,

Well my arm and shoulder are still giving me grief, its looking likely that i have broken my scapula (shoulder blade) :bawling. The docs cant seem to get a clear X-ray of it so ive got physiotherapy on Wednesday to see what they think, if no good there ive got to go for a scan.

As for the bike well ive heard from the insurance..............Its a right off !

They have written it off, its a Cat C. The total cost of the estimate for the repair came to £7832.12 !!! £5812.69 was in parts the rest was labour/vat etc. If ya gonna trash it, do it right :biggrin

They have offered me a settlement of £2675, gotta take my excess off of £350 so it leave me with £2325 in my pocket.

What you reckon fellas, sounds like a fair price for a 02 RSV with 8250 miles excellent cond ?

Cheers,

Ritch

Never take the First price on an insurance offer, get as much info as possible from bike trader etc etc on the price of bikes at you age.

You should get at least 500 pounds more if you work at the bastards.

Not going to buy another bike yet that Ritch?

ps have you thought of either a Mcrosser or race bike like this one?

Yeah seconds on that Ritch. Keep negotiating and if they won't budge tell 'em you're going to put in the hands of your solicitor, etc.

Does that include cost of new lid/leathers etc :dunno I'd have thought you'd get more than that Ritch, as said above never accept the first offer :devious they always try it on with a low offer first :jack

No mate, cos i took responsibility for the accident (you cant really claim against **** on the road :angry) i cant claim for leathers etc ?

Looking at the Parkers price guide thats probably not too bad a quote then Ritch if you cant claim for leathers etc :dunno All depends how much you need the cash or whether you want to hold out for a little more.

Ritch, just a sideline, but check your household contents policy. You may well find you can lodge a claim with them for your kit :thumbup

Did think about that mate, didnt really wanna claim on the house, i will only get stung on the renewal next year.

Glad to hear your doing ok Ritch. That sounded like a nasty one, you know what dose'nt kill us only makes us stronger, your decision is the right one, but If you do decide to get back on two wheels consider something like a KTM690SMC :roost

Good to hear your feeling better mate and the insurance is going through ok, get well soon , ST

was there gravel on the road then at least write a letter to the highways authority with a CC to you solicitor and Insurance company.

Afternoon all,

just another update, well went to physiotherapy this week and its kind good and bad news.

Good news is they dont think any bones are broken, bad news is ive damaged the muscle/tissue on shoulder blade and damaged at least one maybe two ligaments in my shoulder. Got exercise to do but good god does it hurt :bawling. Still to early to tell what the out come will be as regards if it will heal ok or need surgery, hoping they will heal ok !

Managed to get a couple pics of the bike from the insurers, they not very good and they really dont make the bike look in that bad shape,
