It works it feckin works lads

Right lads update on the CBR1000RR 06 stand on a new shape aprilia.
Stand arrived today Its been used but certainly very clean. i did however pay more for mine than A303, but was desperate to try one and went for the best one i could get pay now. £35 + £5 p+p.
Took the old Budsy off and i have to say it doesn't look like it has suffered any damage or change of shape since fitting. on holding the two stands side by side the geometry looks very similar, all be it the CBR stand has a bend in it to achieve the angle, where the budsy has the top welded on at an angle.
Tested the Honda bolt as it appears to be better made than the original all fitted well so went with it. Test fitted stand with no springs, and here is the small problem with the new shape. the stand touched the left hand link pipe. applied a small weld to the back of the stand and then adjusted with a file until the link pipe clearance was spot on. Fitted the stand with the Honda springs and bobs your uncle. Job done with nothing more complicated than a small weld. well pleased and now have piece of mind. see pics below.

Hope this helps any others who may be wondering what to do.
Mine was an 06 CBR1000RR, i believe that from 08 onwards the stands are straight and don't have the bend in them, don't know how this will affect anything.

Sorry Sprocker the stand fits so it wont be up for grabs, but if anyone wants a Budsywoo stand that still looks as perfect as the day it was fitted to see if they can re-engineer the welds and improve then PM me and we can sort something out.

That means i dont need to bother with the few stands i was going to make up then :thumbup

Sorry if this has all pissed on your fire. it will certainly make your life a lot easier. How about you buy up a load of CBR stands, do the small weld bit and then sell them on. I think there is going to be rush on fireblade stands. could be a nice little business. I think when aprilia were sorting out their side stand switch arrangement they blatantly copied the Honda it is that similar.

Dont be sorry dude, i was only doing a few stands as a favour to a few on here

Its saved me loads of work to be honest, so i thank you for posting what ya did :thumbup

erm i bought myself a blade stand yesterday for my mille, the 2005 CBR1K stand, i assume its the right one? thats the one it told me to use at the beginning of this thread? erm also does it need modifying i was under the understanding it fit straight on....

I believe the pre 08 stands, Ie 07 and earlier, are all the same, not sure how far back but certainly to 05, as long as it is the one with the bend in it as seen on my pics.
It depends on which model you have as to whether any mod is required. if it is an early model Ie single exhaust they apparently go straight on.
If however it is a later model like mine, Ie twin exhaust, then you need to build the stop point out a little as seen in my pics, to stop it hitting the link pipe when the stand is retracted. Everything else is as standard i even used the Honda bolts.

Yep according to the two that have already fitted them to old shape they go straight on. :thumbup

I fitted a CBR1000RR 2004/05 stand to my 2001 Millie this weekend and it goes straight on - no mods necessary (just use the leg). Best mod I've ever done - it doesn't lean the bike any further over but the foot is a good three inches further away and the whole thing feels planted (at last).

Hi... would you know if a CBR1000RR 06/08 or CBR600RR 07 would fit a RSV 2002 !? :dunno

& which seems too sit better... 600 or 1000 or both 'perfect' !? :biggrin

Mine's an 06 600 - not sure of any differences with the 07 - mine's not quite perfect - I'd ideally like it 'bent' a couple of degrees more just to get a bit more weight over it - certainly good enough though and far better than standard.
Anyone know how I could get it 'bent' out a little without compromising the strength? (Heating it?)

From looking around it appears that the 600 stands are straight and the 1000 stands have a bend in them. i believe that up to 07 they fit, but think the 08 onwards are a different stand and may not fit. The best way to go is with a CBR1000RR stand that has a bend in it and i think any from 04-07 are ok. mine is an 06/07 1000 stand and is good.
A303 i think if you can get it heated and put a end in it should be OK, but i know there are some guys on here that work with metal and may be able to help.:thumbup

ffs i bought one as directed by all the happy customers here and they sent me the wrong fookin item FFS. charged me £7 for delivery and it took a week to arrive! ffs not happy. how do you confuse a 1994 stand with an 05 stand? knobs.

oh well.

Not from "BLACKS" was it, them breakers on ebay are fuckwits, they sent me a switch gear with all the cables cut off 2" from the control, i told them i would swap it for the lamba sensor they had on there.......They sent me a vacuum valve from good knows what.....they are CRETINS :jack

yeah blacks are absolute *****!!!! took them 4 weeks to deliver a part for my kawasaki ZZR600 and its all worn and covered in black residue, described as 'mint' they are a bunch of unorganised pricks.

but this wasn't blacks. i did see one at blacks but i am NOT using them ever again.

this was another breakers yard place, loads of bits but managed to **** my order up. bad comms and all... ffs.

scooters-and-bikes - its an ebay shop, there feedback is pretty good actually, hence i bought through them but they tend to post slowly, as per some other feedback comments, and they got my item wrong, NO communication as yet and i emailed them 2 days ago.
