horn issue

Please help. I have tried to install a new louder horn to my Tuono 1000 2008 to replace the squeaky original . The new horn details say is draws 5 amps, however , when I press the horn button, eventually, the 5 amp fuse pops.The horn wires read 12.7 volts on the multimeter when the button is pressed. If the battery is connected directly to the horn, it works, very loudly .

Hi buddy,

W = V x A therefore if you look on the horn for wattage then W/V = A and replace the fuse for the next one above that value, that should work.

Or you could just increase the size of the fuse by one, if it takes some time to blow I would assume upping the fuse by one should do

so I sent the 5 amp horn back and bought a super loud 3.5 horn instead , which sounds a lot better than the factory one.
