Hi, I have a 2001 rsv Mille and I’ve been stumped for a few days now. I bought this bike and it ran fine for a month or so and I’m driving to sell it and it sputters like it’s out of gas, it has a full tank. So I get it home and fine out the fuel pump isn’t priming. I check all fuses, relays, connectors, and if every wire has continuity. Everything gets power as it should yet the fuel pump won’t prime so I took it out of the bike and hooked the fuel pump motor directly to a battery charger and it worked fine. I’m not too sure why I have seen some things where the wires to the motor go bad but they hold a current just fine

I have the exact same issue on rsv r 2001. Did u manage to sort it i have changed the tip over and sorted all wiring now I'm like u I'm.stumped.

I've had the exact same problem, tried and checked everything and I couldn't get it fixed. I did find out though that this is a common problem on the types of bike that we own. I ended up buying a second hand fuel pump assembly of Ebay and started to experiment changing out parts to see if I could get it going again. It turned out that the pump motor itself was simply worn out causing an intermittent problem in priming. Because soon as I exchanged that the pump assembly primed, and my bike started just fine. Hope this helps!
