Scarborough Gold Cup 15-16th Sept, camping, beer, laugh & bikes. Is there anything else required...Central to a large amount of members? plenty of time to plan...fD

Long way off but weather still good around that time. Could be around the BSB at Assen which I plan on going too though.
Just checked Assen is following weekend so could make it depends on personal circumstances around that time.

I'd be up for something. I was hoping to go to Wales last year, but it got scuppered. It would be great if some of the gadgies could make it up North Scotland sometime. I would be up for a run South this year, but it would be better with I could meet with some folks on the way down just for the company etc. I was planning to do something in March, but maybe Wales is too far. Borders(ish) probably. HAve to say, I dinna fancy a race day tbh.

Lets weait for some sunshine then act on impulse. Fancy Scotland myself for a week or so if I can. May have to take the Blade though as fuel economy on the T is Horrendous. Also find self discipline & touring mode difficult maintain on T got to ride like a loon.

Any mathematicians amongst us. say 1000 miles on T = 25MPG @ £1.30 a litre = £200.00 V Blade & 45MPG = £145.00 Hmmmmmm wopuld that be about Rico you know what my maths is like.

I've just driven from Abergavenny to the lake district. 4 an half hours. Wouldn't have fancied it on the tuono. I'm more of a 2 hour rider with coffee and pie at the bike stop ;). Can u get t's on a plane or train to scotland?

sounds good to me for Scarborough or the Borders, if its the Borders i have heard there is a good hotel in Moffat (www.buccleucharmshotel.com) that caters for bikers with bike garages etc and the roads are supposed to be good!

Find out who is our furthest north member, and south member, who would be interested in a meet. Then we could just find a point in the middle to meet up...Simples..fD

i fancy a meet up and a ride out night over sounds good dont fancy a bike meet cant have a proper chat or ride out with everybody DONT FANCY CAMPING FOOK THAT B&B or hotel / pub will do just fine

I'd deffo be interested in a blast around the Borders, there's some excellent roads in that part of the world. And I've also heard good reports about the Buccleugh arms in Moffatt. Bikes, good roads, decent digs and a few beers. All the ingredients for a good time...sounds like a plan!

Just to chuck another log on the fire, there's a good biker friendly hotel in the lakes. The Patterdale hotel in......Patterdale, stayed there a few times with riders of another (British) marque of motorcycle. Good rooms, good food, real ale! a pub over the road with real ale too! And some excellent roads in the area. 20 mins from the Kirkstone pass, 30mins from Hartside cafe. Plenty of choice of roads to ride, something to tickle every fancy.

So you see FD, there are plenty of suggestions around, you just have to get your organising head on and people will turn up.
Mind you a lot of us have done it before........:yes

I'm in the lakes at the mo. It's doable on a t for me even though it'd be a boring as feck ride up here as prob do the m6 thang.

To combine other peoples thoughts :-

I am up for an over-night stay - B&B.
Borders, lakes or Scarboro is good.
Tuono`s soon loose their appeal after a few hours sitting on a motorway.

Probably because of the distance involved, I suspect that this may split into a couple of meet ups.

1. Hardcore northeners with Viking blood.
2. Soft southern shandy drinkers.

I will leave it up to yourselves to decide which group best suits your own personality.
