"ello boys

Found the clock connector plug and 2 ECU connectors. No issues with corrosion. I went through every single plug visible
and found no sign of corrosion in any of them.

I'm unsure of what the lock connectors are on the L/H side of the TB's but inspected one that was held in place with a u-shaped metal spring clip.
No issue there either.

Battery has been load checked and is tickety boo. (All is good)

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH!

Sikorsky, welcome mucker. Sounds like yer machine is possessed, call yer local exorcist.

Not very helpful, I know.

Hope someone can sort it for you.

Sikorsky!!

if we fix this can i come to canada?

groover im happy to work through this with ya no problems!

Firstly the broken block connector symbol is going to be on the dash because there isnt enough power in the battery to run the ecu and the dash in the battery, im confident that this is easily sorted!!. Can you get to the bike and give me a good power supply? either a different fully charged battery or a battery pack thats used for jump starting engines or even a set of jump leads would do the job connect it (them) up to the bike and try and start it? im sure it will run , again im confident that the way you described the engine cutting out with the bang is a misfire due to the battery voltage becoming to low!

if you try this for me then let me know ill know where to go from there ! Simples!!

got your email as well!!

stay in touch!!!

Griff

I have a great cost efficient way of getting you to Canada We are expecting another shipload of Sr Lanka refugees soon. How do you feel about extended times at sea?

I'm headed to the Vancouver Bike Show today. I'll get onto the beast on my return. Thanks for the quick reply.

OK boys, I just got home from a 14 hrs shift and flew into the garage.

I hooked her up to the battery in the Mrs's Volvo, crossed my fingers, lit a candle, prayed to the heavens hit the starter and nada.

Double checked the leads, all was good battery voltage plenty and still ........ nada.

Next?

Me too. Still the same as before including the "Unplugged ECU" icon. Now I'm all bummed out after going to the show, seeing all the bright and shinies and still not having a bike. :(

could be the patern stator as Charley T mentioned.

Think back to when the trouble started .............................. ?
What did you buy ? .......Generator with different winding ??????/ I`m not electric minded but I would have got the exact same .

I put in an aftermarket stator from Rick's Stators, a reputable place. After the install all ran fine for a little bit, AC voltages off the winding were good, RR started overheating and I believe fried. I used a Honda RR as a replacement and it ran a few more times followed by the 'bang' and stall. Since then nothing.

There is an issue with the " brown Connectors " thereare 3 of them I think on the right side . They tend to overheat and fuse together. The idea is to put new connectors on and seperate them . AF1 site has a thread on them .

And guided tours of the roads of BC available to anyone making it to the most beautiful place on earth!

Me?..I was lucky enough to do a fair bit of motorcycling in BC a few years back (RockyMountain Bike Tours)

Awesome!....there is a 30Km racetrack (sorry, service road) that leads up to the Mica Dam from Revelstoke....that Sir, is one of the best roads I've ever ridden...smooth, wide, undulating, straights, turns, and hardly a thing on it....well, except deer, oh, and bears, and moose...but other than that....nothing...

I made myself a promise when I got back to the UK, that I'm going to do that ride again...deffo...when time & funds permit!

Sure, I 'll either be on the wife's 696 or in my E39 at this rate ..............
