Just wondering why people ride Tuono's. I bought mine as the GSXR and BMW R1200S was giving me neck ache and wrist ache. Am I getting too old to ride a sports bike or just more sensible knowing I can go just as fast on the roads and be more comfortable on a Tuono?
PS I'm 38 on Nov 14th. Make a date in your diary guys. i'm expecting birthday wishes on here ;)

Its about the age biking maturity begins. I got my first Ape about 35- 36

I bought a Tuono because it was fun. I actually had a Pipe&Slipper (Honda VFR) previously, so I am going the other way.

I am 50 on Dec 7th. I expect a drink. :)

Got mine at age 45. Rode my mates new Honda Fireblade the other day - got off it and realised, once I could stand up straight, why I don't ride a sportsbike any more! He rode my Tuono Factory - reckoned it was the dogs (of course) and the most comfortable bike he'd ever been on. "You've just wasted £10 grand then"...:D

Oh, nearly forgot - it's my Birfday on Nov 15th!! I'll be 47. Bloody hell. :p

You can handle the " T " at an older age , me 50+. When I get on I forget the age bit and just ride it.

Funnily enough on the Tuono when I'm not riding with mates I can quite happily poodle about behind a car doing 60mph for a few minutes but on the sports bike always felt I had to overtake cos of the head down arse up position. Mind u I'm normally happier doing about 80mph around the B roads in Brecon, Llandovery.

Just need to figure out the suspension settings to get a bit of a better ride out of it now. Had the BMW R1200S with full Ohlins before and that was absolutely planted. Guy before me must have been a bit heavier than me as the T is a bit jittery over the bumps whereas that BMW just soaked them all up no worries. Still prob quicker on the T though but I'd rather get it set up prop

As for sportsbikes some people look like nobs on them. Saw a guy about 6'8'' getting off an RC8 the other day. Looked absolutely stupid on it and when he stood next to it. Just couldn't have been comfortable. And seen some big lads getting off Triumph 675's. I think they're even smaller.

I'm a whopping 26 - yes I have achieved a great deal in so few years - and after two IL4's (ZX6r and Speed 4) was fed up ringing the bikes neck. The S4 was bought to keep top speed down and because I genuinely prefer the look of naked bikes - most of the time. Getting off her and onto the T was an epiphany though, much more purposeful bike which does everything brilliantly....especially the Lions Head Factory model from 2008. What, I'm not hijacking anything! :D

Oh yes, I ought to add, typo at the beginning, I'm 36. 37 on Dec 19th when I'll be on my lonesome, away from my family, snorting coke of the breasts of russian hookers. Just kidding, I'm a clean living kind of guy. It will be sherbert!

I'm 45, bought my T in July when I was still (just) 44. Came from a Kawasaki ZX6R and before that I'd had a VFR750 for years. I just wanted a bike that was practical, ok in town, able to do light touring, reasonably comfortable, but (most importantly of all) able to go batsh*t mental when required.

The Tuono fits the bill to a T. (do you see what I did there......?). I can see me keeping it for a good few years.

If I could afford to run a second bike I'd get another sportsbike (probably a 600), but I very much doubt I'll run one as my only bike again.

I didn't start biking until I was 32, and am 41 now. My first bike was an upright, naked old gen Fazer. I've also had VFRs, an SV and an XT660.

So I don't think its that much of an age thing, I've always liked to be fairly upright as my choice of bike reflects.

I also get it if for donkeys you have been riding sportsbikes, and then in your 40s-50s+ you want something mentalist that is more upright.

Been on bikes since 1979 and the Tuono is the best bike I've ever had. All the bikes I've owned have been good (Z650, RD400, TL1000, GSX1400 and many more) but none of them gave me the sheer pleasure that the Tuono does. Sitting in 5th gear on the A82 past Loch Ness just rolling the throttle on and off, you just couldn't beat the sensation. I doubt any power ranger toy could give as much fun as the Tuono on those sort of roads. Seriously thinking of buying a 2010 factory next year to replace the 1000r, if only I could get over my hatred of the gold frame.

Stop going on about changing bikes to the Gen 2 Factory. I want to change my Racing 53 Plate Tuoldo and only had it just over 6 months to that but I just can't justify spending the extra cash. Oh woe is me. Oh plus I'm having a massive extension built on my house.

So your extension is £6,200 smaller....like anyone would notice!

My story is very similar to a lot of folks on here.I did the 'power ranger' sports bike thing, then come to my senses and decided I needed to put the fun back into my biking.Tried the Hypermotard, but could'nt love it,.....so sold it and bought the T.What a machine!
Oh,I'm 49 and will be 50 on Nov24.

bay..
u nearly as young as me ...
i am 38 on dec 6th...i used to ride sports bikes , but they started to hurt me all over .

I am 33 and have had a whole lot of IL4s but the T is certainly by far the best fun, best handling bike and the best for some out right hooliganism. But don't tell to many people as they will all want one!

I`ve always had sit up and beg bars or ape hangers. cafe racers were not for me.
Bonners, I was going to suggest your bike to Neilmac.
