Cold start

Wish I'd known that. Just fitted a high cranking motobatt bought from wemoto. Seems to do the trick though. Change solenoid as well as the bike was just click click clicking. Fast service from them mind. Next day delivery and ordered it at about 2pm in the afternoon. Oh well will have to use it till it gives up will to live

Well checked mine out today so tank up airbox off and stepper motor is fine, gave it a clean anyway. Checked all the vacum lines all seem fine and clear. Tightened the throttle cables and cleaned all the gremlin connectors with WD40 and then self amalgamated the rouge connector that was causing my fault the other week. So all back together and still not ideling when cold unless some throttle. So i am now talking to Gabro about possible solutions he is a nice fella and has given me some things to try first off one being to try to open a little more the 2 bypass screws on TB left side, try + 1/2 a turn both, does anyone know of any pics that would show these screw adjustments to be on the safe side?

Thanks and will keep you posted.

Bike runs great when above 40deg on the dash ticks over just fine. Also checked the battery charge when running and its showing 14.2v at 4K so this seems fine also.

I thought you are not supposed to fiddle with the screws of the throttle bodies? Are'nt they set at the factory then marked with paint?I'm sure there is something in the workshop manual about this.I dont wish to poo-poo Gabro's advice,....he has way more knowledge on the subject that me.
Why not give Griff at Aprilia Performance a call,he should be able to give better advice,.....and he is heading up to Scotland soon.Click here

I know what your saying Keith however i cant see the problem if i turn it a half turn i can easily turn it back to where it was. Not sure which screws it is.

I'll just demonstrate how pished a wiz.[

After a few glasses of the good old French red juice my fingers were a bit wobbly on the keyboard too...

Yeah, you're right, Gabro appears to have cracked the codes, and can overwrite the RSVR ECU with better Tuono mapping.
This is fantastic news....as you can now pick up a s/hand RSVR ECU for a fraction of the cost of a Tuono one...RESULT!

I have used these in the past on my CBF1000 and it worked really well, i know that the tuono has a higher cranking need to a CBF but still a good battery in my mind.

Well i tweaked the 2 brass bypass screws anticlockwise as Gabro suggested and the bike ticks over perfectly at cold, so all good took it upto temp and its idle is fine throughout. So before any more swapping out of ECU's try giving this a shot, mine was running fine just this idle at cold which is vastly improved through adjusting these a half turn each anticlockwise. Bike idle drops as she warms up so from that i mean its cold and idleing around 1200rpm then when upto temp this is more like 950rpm.

Very happy now :thumbup
