man you are BS-ing us
I was about to buy a 1200 Multistrada, but I figured spending the same on a 04 Factory would result in good BHP and a nice noise eh...
Cost wise - I was going to buy a Multistrada ( £14k ) Looking at Tuono's I could get a minter for £5k, leaving a good sum for bollock enlargement process.
V4 Tuono is 2010

DMJ510 - 04 Tuono R £5000 Minter Spend the rest £9k on making go go faster. Do you understand..? Or you want me to make a short cartoon..?

To avoid confusion.

I have a budget of 15k.

Option one: Multistrada 1200S - but maybe not "aprilia" enough for in here eh...

Option two: V4 Tuono - but maybe too small .... luggage rack? Pillion... I poke small bints, but not kids.

Option three: 04 Tuono R ( the V-twin for those new to this... ) and spend the remaining funds on POWER. It would be a tool, but how much would 'better ' could it be...??

Lol he just wants to see if an of us have taken these bikes to their reliable tuning limits mate :)
so he knows where those limits lay and if its worth starting down that road and what it involves etc.

Flick - I`m sure that sorta output would be easily achievable with your budget (its only like a 30hp gain or so) but so far I have not bumped into anyone on here thats done it. Have you given griff a call? I dont know if he does that sorta extensive tuning, but he knows these bike like the back of his hand and may be able to recommend a route for you to take or a specialist for you to talk to??

i would say that better would be to buy "the mint" tuono and let it be sorted without any big bore kit . you probably wont feel the differnece between the v2 138 bhp and 160IL4 bhp. anyway if you are not about to compete why would your low limit be 150 bhp? i understand that you have plenty of money you have to spend otherwise i do not understand why would you spend 14K for something which makes you same happy for 5k.

I can supply you with an 1103 kit inc barrels with steel liners for £1350 exchange, the kit uses pistal pistons and rings. As for the clocks I have fitted a Translogic dash to my gen1, again I can supply this at a very good price.

Can you get this kit any time?

Any one here running a supercharger then? Or know how much it cost..?

i own a motorcycle service/custom shop here in my country and i'm in the process of turboing one of my mille's :) yes, a supercharger has no lag but a turbo is better in the high range of revs :) i'm using a fiat 650 turbine :)

Just to put some evidence on the table for big-bores. Here's a comparison of the power and torque curves from my 2006 1103 with a 2008 R1. They're from the same dyno, so the comparison should be reasonably valid - though the absolute numbers can be debated long into the night...

With this set-up, I was able to better my own lap times by around 5% - but there's always someone faster and slower than oneself, regardless of the machine they ride.
(BTW, on the 1103 my Donny PB is just under 1m 50s - BRG - Donington 1m 49.6s

Yeah, If you can read the writing on that tiny graph, you may notice that I had an Akrapovic EVO6 exhaust system on it to begin with. Even the dyno tester was shocked with the gains that exhaust made!
They say that a typical RSV in standard form makes around 125-127 on that dyno.

So depending on what dyno you use, Im sure that 150bhp is more than easily and safely possible ;)

My 2004 Factory was really healthy, this was it with a standard motor with a Homer Uwe airkit, PC111 mapped to suit and my own cored cans, oh and a gutted flapper valve

The dyno operator at FW developments said he was gobsmacked at it's power, my 2006 bike did this on the same day with the same mods apart from the gutted flapper, but with a Smaltmoto full 60mm system
