This is an update on my incident that I had when the Soupys lowering link failed on me.
When your suspension collapses and the shock absorber is still attached to the plates the shock absorber does not have enough room through the swingarm and frame to move correctly. The resulting suspension collapse that I had has bent my shock absorber. I thought that it was just the top but its not. Its the entire piston rod which will now need replacing.
I know that there are people out there that have had this link fail on them and their suspension has collapsed on them. I would advise anyone who has had this happen to them to get their shock absorber off the bike and check that it has not been bent.
I cannot stress how dangerous this link is. It also changes the rising rate of your bike outside of the manufactures specifications as well
