Afternoon all,
currently replacing the fork seals on my gen2 Factory.
The manual says to use 500ml of 5w Ohlins oil, is this right?
5w seems a bit light to me or is it that the Ohlins forks work different and only need this oil.
Many thanks
Hi All,
I'm in need of a replacement Ohlins outer fork leg for my '04 Factory (radial brake)
Does anyone know if the outer tube from the earlier non radial brake fork would be compatible?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
i have a big o ring on one side of my forks so i can see how far they travel after a ride out i found i only have about 20mm left before they would have bottom out does this sound a bit soft or is this about correct ?? the top adjusters seem very hard to turn unless they are already at...
Hi all,
My RSVR '06' has leaking fork seaks, i understand GSXR1000 K4 seals do the trick. Has anyone replaced these and do you know if they last longer than the Ohlins ones. Also i've heard Ktech do seals that fit, has anyone tried these?
My local mech has quoted £110 + parts. Are special...
Bought some progressive Yacugar springs and oil from FTR.
Taken a look at the workshop manual and it shows the correct tools to be used for gripping the inner fork parts and and holding the spring down with a washer tool.
I have no doubt they are expensive, any one done this with out the...
Hello all. I need to get the seals changed on my 2000 model Ohlins. Can anybody recommend someone local (Lincolnshire area) who can do this? Alternativly has anyone had any experience of dealing with K-tech, Kais, etc. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. tt
On AF1's website I'm looking at getting the Ohlins internals for my Showa forks.
Should I, and if so why, the RaceTech Gold Valve fork kit? And finally, should I add the RaceTech fork springs to the system as well?
Hi there, just wondering if any of you has tackled a front (Showa) fork oil change on a Gen 1 Tuono ? Mine's a 2003 model.
I'm a fairly competent home mechanic but any advice would be appreciated, such as any special tools required, etc ?
Thanks and regards,
Fletch
Hello guys,
Please let me know if you have/know someone or find the Fork Caps for the RSV R Ohlins Forks.
Bent forks could have the Fork Caps intact.
Mine have the rebound adjuster fwked and I cant adjust the preload because it will turn the rebound with it.
Thanks.
hi all. does anyone no how to take the fork caps apart to change the seal on a 2000 rsvr? leaking from preload adjuster! ohlins say you need a tool to do it but if i new what tool i needed i can machine something up to do the job but they want tell me a thing even having just brought me oil...
hi all, just pulled the forks out of my 2000 rsv r to change the seals and the ones iv been sent dont fit? my old seals measure 55mm od 43mm id the ones iv been sent are 54mm od 43mm id? the guy is saying that they are the right ones. seen people on about gsxr 1000 k4 seals are they 55mm x 43mm...
Right after a bit of googling im still none the wiser.
Looking at some adjustable clipons for my 2003 Rsv fitted with the Showas and seem to think they are 53mm mounting and the Ohlins are 51mm mountings but the ones i am looking at are advertised as 52mm!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, this is my first post since "the crash".
Need some advice about when to service my showa forks (03) and if one can tell if they need servicing.
Thanks
I want to do this on the cheap with my existing kit as funds won't stretch to Abba stands or proper kit at the moment.
I don't have a garage as such so the Rafter suspension method is out.
I was going to use a Rear paddock stand and a Trolley jack under the sump with a block of wood to...
i really need to do this over the winter as i've neglected it on past services and it should be done every 4,500m.
I can't find the exact Ohlins service manual for the RSVR as the one i have refers to Suzuki Ohlins forks.
I bought the Ohlins fork cap tool, some plastic measuring jugs and read...
The cause of the above is 2 reasons. Firstly the axle diameter is too large on the left hand side which reduces the amount of material on the left fork bottom. Secondly the pinch bolts are too large, Thus it is too easy to overtighten the pinch bolts resulting in too much stress in the fork...
Was sitting thinking about radial calipers and how to get them onto a Tuono...
I thought Hmmmmm
Superduke...
they're 54mm at top and 60mm bottom.
What's the Tuoldo ?
The easy answer is of course, Ohlins... but DAMN they're not cheap.
