Bit of advice please.
I have a 2000 RSV R - fantastic bike, very well sorted.
I live in a tiny Shropshire village - 30 secs = Biking roads [near Telford]
Fork seals are leaking and the tapppets need checking. I have built racing engines in the past. I used to race F2 sidecars, so I have a fair...

Hello everyone this is my first post on this site but it is not a happy one! Just last week i was the proud owner of a new rsv-r (2003) and todat i was fitting the front wheel and i over torqued the spindle pinch bolts and cracked the lower fork spindle clamp so now i'm very not happy :angry...
What effect would stifening the front suspension do for a ride?
I find the front diving a fair bit under serious braking.
Would it make it more stable or would I be better off leaving it to the pros?
Can someone who knows please confirm that an 07 Mille R should have 51mm forks?
My mate's got a lovely set of Gilles Variobars that he got for his 07 2No but didn't use. I was going to buy them but my 01 Showas are 53mm. We didn't get to measure the bar clamps but it didn't seem that they would...
Just parked up at work and when putting chain on noticed a pool of oil, front fork is pissing oil out from the bottom of the fork ... Is this going to be ok to ride home (50 miles of a roads wit a fair few bumps) and any idea on cost on getting fixed :dunno
Thanks for any advice :thumbup
Alright folks, well after the disasterous start to the day (see my earlier thread, spat the dummy out big time!!!), it ended up great!! Sun was out, roads relativley quiet and an indicated 158mph (on private road .......:devious). My new Wilbers shock working amazingly well...
Does anyone know where I can get my ohlins Forks rebuilt. I live in Oxford and would obviouly prefer some where local. I can;t drop the forks out myself as i no way of doing it.
I only want them rebuilt as they come from an 02 bike which have probably never been done since it was new.
Cheers
I've always suspected that my front end was not right, it always felt vague and behaved erratically mid corner.
Anyhow, this weekend I decided to do something about it. I ripped off all my fairings, removed my forks and set about stripping them down.
Now stripping them down was not that bad a...
I am repairing some forks for somebody. The parts damaged are the washer at the top that goes between the spring and the preload plastic ring/grommet and a plastic grommet that goes on a metal tube further down inside the forkleg.
Anyway, they are on backorder with Ultimate parts, but Aprilia...
The Ohlins specialist in N Ireland reckons the Suzuki seals story is a pile of balls :dunno. Now on reading here its obviously not but he's a very well respected bloke who looks after 90% of racers here. He says they will fit but are dearer and Ohlins have now uprated their seals which has done...
well popped one of my fork seal's today and lost loads of fluid on the tire
i have seen somewhere that original ohlins seals are stupidly priced or maybe I'm wrong.
so just need to know if there not where in the UK am i able to get a set from and what weight fork oil am i best putting in ...
Hey all,
Anyone changed the fork oil recently? Wondering how easy it is do you need any special tools?
I already have the forks off the bike.
Been busy recently in the garage, built myself some stands instead of paying out for an abba stand
Things I've done on the bike so far
full service...
I did a bit of a search on the forums and couldn't find any recommendations.
As I'm a "chunky" type of chap I want to get the forks set up correctly for my weight. Has anyone used Kais or the like and had theirs revavled and was it worthwhile?
My 2000 Mille has the forks set showing 2 rings above the top yoke (excluding the cap) on the fork stanchion. The front end feels vague into corners like i'm riding a chopper. The manual suggests 4 rings showing so i think the front is set a little too high anyway. What have you all got? Any...
Hi guys
Need some advice
My ohlins fork seals are shot on my 2003 RSV-R and i want to replace them myself.
Is there a how to anywhere on how to do this?
Do i need any particular special tools or can these be easily made?
I understand 43mm Suzuki seals will fit the ohlins ie GSXR1000 K4-K6...
