I must admit that I did it the easy way and went for a professional suspension setup - honestly the best £40 I have ever spent on a bike.
I would recommend it to anyone.

I did the same. the above is what my guy did

I got my 2007.5 tuono about a month ago,I love it.I sold my ducati monster s4r to buy this one. After 1800 miles still have rubber nips on front tyre.I just don't seem to be able to lay the bike over like I should, which made me wonder about the tyre size. Then I stumbled into this forum and this subject.Am I excited.Yokes must be triple trees, and sliding fork tubes up.I think the spanner comment threw me.I am looking forward to many great years with the tuono.mark

you will most likely always have chicken strip on the front. it has to do with more than how much you are leaned over

G'day and welcome to the Zone Blu-J; and welcome to the Tuono Owners' club.

Yes, yokes are triple trees, and we are sliding the fork tubes up into the triple trees/top and bottom yokes.:thumbup
Changing the rake by sliding the forks up, means it will be more agile and less stable; meaning it will tip-into corners with less effort.
As troy says, it's not that easy to get off the edge of the front tyre. I have worn off the edge on the rear, and still have 6-8mm strips on the front.

Hiya Blu, don't worry about the strips. Load of **** waving bollox anyhoo. Just enjoy the bike mate :thumbup

Welcome blu j. I have the advantage of being Canadian and receiving more exposure to British vernacular than my xenophobic neighbours to the south. If "spaner" threw you then yer going to have kittens trying to understand Sean. Heh. And as the lads said, dinna fach aboot the chicken strips on the front. The ONLY way I know to safely get rid of them is at the track!! And boy will you have fun doing it!! As long as your boolsheet detector is ser to maximum, you will have a great time here!! And I know you will have a great time on your T trying to scrub those front chicken strips!

Thanks for the replys.I am going to try to understand Sean after a few beers tonight, and if that does not unplug my ears (eyes),maybe a nice 18 year old single malt. This feels like a good forum. When I ordered my 2005 FJR(blu-j)I had to wait 6 months to get it.So I visited the fjr forum many times a day.Talk about a chubby. It was fun doing group buys and aquiring farkles for the new toy. There is a wealth of information out there.Have been in svrider and monster board but they were not the same. The aprilia forum that AF1 sponsers is good, but I not sure about bring up the group buy idea.Just bought sliders, but looking for ohlins steering damper, and I lusting after the new akrapovic evolution exhaust.I think I been a little long winded Mark

Long winded? I thought you were just warming up!

This is a very warm forum. Long winded is what most of us are aboot. Enjoy.
