Before i start planning the next run out would any one in the Country Durham area like to have some input on possible destinations ? i am thinking on heading North for a change :thumbup
with a bit of luck we may get a few more out :yes

The back road from yarm to Richmond is one of my favourites.
Then depending on time, possibly the road from Richmond to Kirby Stephen (via Nateby).

TBH, I dont head north that much, it seems like a lot of dual carriage way to get somewhere decent.
There is always the Newcastle / Hexam, weardale route (dont forget to keep the tank topped up).

Gary, why Keswick in September, is it shut the rest of the year ?

Another good road is over the North Yorks moors / Blakey Ridge, there is a crackin pub at the top, The Lion Inn, that serves good food.

Rosedale Abbey is not far from that, loverly little tea rooms that serve home made cakes.

Brilliant roads with a duplicate corkscrew on the Robins Hood Bay road , hmmmm not sure about Rosedale road thats where I locked front on gravel and launched Firestorm into the undergrowth ha ha .

we arrive 7th sept, for the 2 nights, then a few of us are heading further north, be good if you could make it.

Not many booked on to be honest, around 30 Tuono,s and a few ducs.

Options:
1) meet point TBC - Stokesley - North Allerton - Thirsk - Skipton - Leyburn - Barnard Castle - Durham - 180 miles (ish)
2) Meet point TBC - Consett - Corbridge - Hawick - Brampton - Alston - Wolsingham - Durham - 200 miles (ish)
Date TBC
Any other ideas will be considered.
if anyone is interested in any of the above let me know availability for either the last weekend in July (28th / 29th) or the first weekend in August (4th / 5th)
also weather permitting i will be heading out on Sunday for a half day blast probabley down the coast (whitby / scarborough) if anyone wants to join me

The first week end in Aug is better for me.

Saturdays are best for me, the wife goes to see her mother all day & I am left to fill my time in.

Ok with me to slot in with Olaf's weekend as may be busy this weekend. Either route sounds ok by me. As long as we have the "odd" coffee stop.

the date is now confirmed as Saturday the 4th of August and in order to include the Yorkshire guys i am inclined to go for option one :yes
this may require an early start as Felix is an insomniac and will no doubt be up and out at sparrows fart :eek2
as for food stops to accomodate Olaf i am sure there will be plenty on route :eatcorn

meeting point for the Durham area lads - McDonalds at Dalton Park
meeting point for the Yorkshire guys - Teasdales at Thirsk
Times - TBC
:deal

Cheers Felix,
I will track it down & report.

The nicest ice cream I have ever tried was over on the west coast, heading up to Silloth.

It waqs raspberry & white chocolate, made with real fruit.

Sounds good to me....

Olaf - If you like ice cream, have you tried Brymor Icecream (Between Leyburn & Masham)
