Well got chatting to a guy on Saturday who's a mechanic and had seen someone when out on his Fazer (apparently Yamahas are 95% efficient and don't break down much. Can tell he's a mechanic huh) on a RSV4 who had said it was the biggest pile of **** he'd ever bought. Said that it looked nice but was leaking **** loads of oil and the garage he bought it from couldn't sort it. It had spent more time back at the shop under warranty than he had had it and the rear seat cowl kept blowing off and he'd gone through 4 already. After the 4th one had blown off he decided just not to replace it. Said that they couldn't supply him one which would fit correctly. Not a happy chappy apparently. Anyway doesn't bode well for the new Tuono due out does it.

I'll be sticking with my old faithful me thinks.

Does not sound good, hopefully its an isolated case

Although someone on here could say My tuono wont start in damp weather, I keep having to buy batteries, The brown plug has melted and the starter relay has broken, I cant get the back brake to work or the bike into neutral at a standstill, The stand is **** and my bike blew over damaging the panels which have taken 10 weeks to arrive .............:eek

But then when the front wheel comes up he will start grinning and forget all of that :thumbup

He did mention the Brown Connector problem. Said he'd loved to have had a T but had read things that the Brown Connector had caused bikes to go up in flames and that if it falls over its a right off due to the gear lever and brake hitting the frame etc and had put him off. Looked at the gear lever and brake on mine then compared to the fazer and it is close to the frame innit. Might have to invest in some of that carbon protection tape.

Those early RSV4's had a few problems,....were'nt some of them in the US recalled for new engines?:eekThere was also a few with dodgy cam chain tensioners.
Should all be sorted now though.
