New RSV4RF

Just picked up a new RSV4RF last week after lots of delays in delivery. What a fantastic bike! My previous bike was an 08 Fireblade which was very user friendly but lacked character and any sense of exclusivity which the Aprilia has in abundance. Been desperately trying to get through the 600 mile run in period but the weather hasn't helped much but even upto 7000 rpm it has brilliant performance and sounds fantastic. No regrets at all in coughing up for it. It's also really easy to ride (unlike the Panigale that I nearly bought instead until I test rode it) and it handles so well.
The first day I had it I was so engrossed in riding it that I forgot to zip up my jacket pocket with iPhone wallet, cash, credit cards and driving license in it and discovered that it had flown out somewhere over the 150 mile round trip I'd done that day. It was obviously my lucky day as I activated the "find my iphone" from my computer and narrowed it down to a stretch of the A285 near Halnaker and after a bit of help and effort located it in the bushes by the side of the road. Result!
A mate of mine was kind enough to drive me to the shop to pick it up and having not ridden bikes for the last 15 years he too fell in love with it and next day he went down and bought one himself. He's loving it too and is beginning to get his confidence back. Luckily too he's a bit of an IT genius so he's read the 222 page instruction manual and can now tell an idiot like me how to set up all the electronics.
Went down to Whiteways on Saturday and couldn't resist opening up a bit going up Bury Hill (still below 7000 rpm!). Only one car on the road which I zipped past but unfortunately it was an unmarked police car (Black BMW) who then came and had a "chat" with me in the cafe carpark. Luckily they were nice blokes and I just got a slapped wrist for doing 86 in a 60. Also met two nice blokes on slightly older RSVs who gave some useful tips on Aprilia ownership.
So so far no disasters and a whole load of fun. Roll on Sunshine and hopefully see a few of you around on the roads.

If you don't mind me asking,Where did you buy you RF From ?
I would love one myself,just don't have that kind of money to buy new.
So I'm looking for a rsv4 to upgrade from my aprilia rsv mille 2001
Just one small problem there is no aprilia dealers in northern ireland
So I will have to come over to England,to fine one.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Just spent the last three weeks in Menorca sunning myself and I gather I didn't miss much motorbiking weather back here in the UK.
Your best bet is to look for dealers on the internet or the Aprilia website. I bought mine from CMW in Chichester who were previously a large Ducati dealer but saw the light and switched to Aprilia but there will be one nearer to you if you're coming over from Ireland.
Since my last post I have completed the running in and had the first service done so can now open up a bit. I have to say it just gets better and better. I thought the Fireblade was good but this is worth every penny. The engine is gorgeous and the chassis and handling are just amazing. I haven't returned from a ride without a smile on my face yet. Unfortunately I haven't had as many rides as I would like since the weather has been pretty crap ever since I bought it in July but fingers crossed for a better September.

Yep. Infectious is what they are. Havent been on mine much this year.... Just currently fitting rearsets and converting to a qs..... Mines an old pre aprc... Its the noise!

Has not been a very good summer over in northern ireland as well
So will hold off to next year, for a new bike.
I'm after a rsv4 1100 tuono factory,it's a big jump from my rsv1000 2001
Was out for a test ride on a KTM Super Duke r 2015 the other day and i was blown away by that.
Now i can't wait to try a tuono factory
