Si – I’m just not a fan of the Gen 1. When I told Griff my plan, the first thing he said was ‘sweet, I’ll have a Gen 1 animal to try & tame’ but it’s not for me. I have my doubts about cat bikes, not for reliability but for selling on. My RSVR was a cat D. Bought it 3 years ago, looked clean enough & it never missed a beat. Was worried I wouldn’t get decent money when I sold it but wanted to be honest about its history. Ended up selling to a Polish guy who exported it so he wasn’t fussed anyway. Didn’t get the going rate for an 05 RSVR but didn’t pay it in the first place, hence the low budget.

Keith – cheers for the heads up, I’ll look into it.

I know they’re out there within my budget, below are some of the ones I missed out on

Gen1 (tuoldo) can be had for less money but needs time and money to sort (unless already done). If you fancy going down this line Batfastard is the man to speak to for the lowdown

Thanks for that Russ. Much as I loved my Tuoldo I wouldn't go back, and the problem is that it costs the same to get a Tuoldo and then fettle it to match the Gen 2 (IMHO) My old bike is back on EBay for £3995, which is reasonable price for it given the spec' but if I was spending £4k I would do what you did and Rob is doing and get an early Gen 2.

And the search continues. Nice to know that there are those that have your back and you can ask questions of. Even tae the point that Paul is showin' off his auld Tuono on fleabay.

And hang in there Keith. Let us cheer you up a little on those bad days. I've been doing that fer me wee sister when the chemo starts to get her down. Taking her to her first Radiation orientation on next Thursday. Second time fighting the ******* C. Breast this time. And she is the healthiest living Vegan granola head yoga instructing person I know. No justice in the world.

Tell me about it. I suffered with this sickening disease 5 years ago at the age of 24. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess as although still very ugly, I seem ok according to the quacks!

My mum suffered with breast cancer 7 years ago, had the op, done the treatment & got the all clear. 3 years ago got diagnosed with it in her lower spine, underwent treatment, which seemed to be working, then found it in her kidneys. Underwent more treatment, again seemed to be working, then found it in her liver. She's a fighter but doesn't seem to be winning this battle. Has been in bed for the last 3 weeks, went for more treatment yesterday & they've decided to keep her in for a few days. There is no fookin justice & nowt I or anyone can do to help her.

At the moment I feel sick all the time & don't want to lose her but need to be strong & supportive in front of her. My wife is pregnant again & I just hope my mum gets to see grandchild number 3 in April. Me seeking this bargain T is my way of switching off from things for a few minutes each day so thanks to all so far for your help :)

I admit tae th' T being my escape from the real world. Nothing like courting disaster to get the blood pumping and feel alive again. Problem is it gets addictive...

Yep,bikes are my way of forgetting about my heath issues.Whether its bolting bits to my T or fettling my two old Brit bikes. There is always summat to do on a Brit bike, like mending oil leaks.

Currently altering the look of my Beeza 250 with some differant side panels and tank.I'm not strong enough to go riding, but twirling the spanners is also great therapy.
