tuono beginner, help!!

I was referring to the little round dial poking out between the tank and the frame on the right hand side? Apparently that controls idle speed?
Yes,that is for adjusting the engine tickover speed.
Its a kinda 'adjust it and forget it' thing really.Because of that, the cable can get seized up.You can sometimes bring them back to life by taking it off the bike and giving it a good soaking in penetrating oil.I think they are around £15 new from an Aprilia dealer.

When you get it running, check the volt meter (r/h button on the clocks) - I often find mine running lower than 12v, so basically it's a "total loss" system.
Don't they all do this?
There's a lot of talk about the "infamous brown connector" up by the regulator on the rhs under the rear fairing. Check that to see if it's showing signs of melting. Mine looks ok, but I'm about to cut it out and hardwire the wires together anyway. People say that this connector creates a lot of resistance and adds to battery problems. Check out anything you can find on this in the forum.
How did you get on with the wiring?

Yeah my vfr800 never missed a beat for the 2 years I had it! Sadly passed away with the help of a blind **** driving a white van! My T has been good lately touch wood! Thanks I'll see about replacing that dial! Wiring all looks good!

Got a new problem :-/ when I give the throttle some wellie the bike is completely shutting down! As if someone has taken the keys out? Very scary at night I can tell ya!! Any ideas what this could be? Thanks in advance.

So what is happening?
Engine stalling?
Lights/ignition switching off?
Both?

It is just cutting out completely! Engine, lights everything. So while rolling along I turn the key off then on again and hit the starter send it all comes on again. Now getting EFI flashing up for a couple of seconds then disappearing?

Have you checked if the battery terminals are good, clean and tight? Also check the negative return lead to the frame.

Yes I've checked the battery wires and they look fine. I've noticed that it cuts out when revved above 8000 rpm and once it's been ridden over 5 miles it seems to stop doing it and the efi warning doesn't come back?

Have a look at the tip over sensor.Make sure its not come adrift.(Its a little square box with an arrow on it,...under the seat, near the battery.)
The arrow should be pointing up.
